A blue-billed white tern, or manu o Kū, tends to a coddled two-day old downy hatchling peeking out from under its wing. The manu o Kū is an arboreal nesting seabird that thrives in urban Honolulu. Monomorphic parents alternate fishing and nesting duties. Adults fish up to 120 miles offshore and return with fresh provisions rather than devouring then regurgitating a meal for their chick. This avian behavior was known to Polynesian voyagers and other seafarers. A landmass that may be out of view over the horizon could be located by following these birds conveying their catch back to their nestling.

I took this image of a mother cuddling with her little one. It was such a privilege and thrill to witness this adorable scene that tugged at my heartstrings. This image was taken at the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa.

.. oh and before anyone freaks out yes this was supervised and Sabian was being very good! Surprisingly he is usually very calm and careful around Aspen.
I wanted to clean the barn before farm campers used it tomorrow, so the goats, hung around and watched as I shoveled the messy floor. Since I wasn't able to pat them at the moment, Cleo gave Julianne pats with her face. That's Peppers on the left, the only male animal on the farm.
