Sorry for the numerous uploads ! But my CS crew was on the verge to make a revolution if they didn't obtain new vehicles to... well, roll along the carpet ^^
I didn't want them to get angry... ;-)
Lots of unknowns with this one, no information on the slide at all. At first I thought the train was topping over Palmer Lake on the Northward Track approximately MP 688 at this date (MP 50.5 today) on ATSF trackage. But if you look ahead of the train there is a pair of color light signals and ahead of the signals possibly a concrete phone booth. There should be a ATSF searchlight signal just ahead of the train. Also the Southward Track above that gorgeous C&S gondola (if that is a track) has the pole line on the opposite side. So not sure where this is. Suggestions welcome. Anyway, it is a wonderful going away shot that was probably just a grab shot by the unknown photographer. Wish he would have labeled his work.
