REPOST

Flickr why aren't you letting me show my pictures in the right way? It refers to the problem I have now and then (previous post for example and most surely even this one) on some of my pictures which are not showing to my contacts and followers. I'm annoyed about this primarily not because of the low numbers but because there is a MALFUNCTIONING

A month of extreme macro

This another view of Crystal Mill that I took on my recent trip to Colorado. This one is in HDR.

The Crystal Mill, or the Old Mill is an 1892 wooden powerhouse located on an outcrop above the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado, United States. It is accessible from Marble, Colorado via 4x4. Although called a mill, it is more correctly denoted as a compressor station, which used a water turbine to drive an air compressor. The compressed air was then used to power other machinery or tools.

The mill was constructed in 1893 by George C. Eaton and B.S. Phillips, promoters of the Sheep Mountain Tunnel and Mining Company.[2] It was built as a power plant for the Sheep Mountain Tunnel.[2] Originally it had a horizontal waterwheel which generated compressed air for miners in the nearby silver mines.[2] It fell into disuse in 1917 when the Sheep Mountain Mine closed. The mill was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 5, 1985.[2];

27:52 Go into your archive and find an orphaned photo as an inspiration for a new photo – have it feed your consciousness, to inspire a newer – and better – version.

I am a chronic deleter so I really don't have something in my archives that I wanted to reshoot so I chose a shot I posted some time ago and redid it. I do like this version much better.

The beads of the bracelet are all clear. It is the refraction of light within the bead that causes the color. The light source is from my cell phone’s LED light.

Some colorful pertrified wood found along the Crystal Forest Trail in Petrified Wood National Park, Arizona.

The 0.8 mile loop trail takes you into the remains of an ancient forest, where some 225 million years ago, 200-foot tall conifers dominated a tropical lowland. Time, climate, and geologic forces buried the trees in layers of mud and volcanic ash, leaving enormous fossilized remains for visitors of the modern age.

The fossilized trees of the Crystal Forest have an unusually high concentration of additional crystals inside the trees themselves — small pockets where the trees have become filled with deposits that eventually turned into quartz and amethyst crystals.

Staying on the frozen theme I noticed the shape of a creature directly above the bokeh when I took a closer look, maybe I'm just hallucinating ??? Gotta stay off those meds :-)))
