I crocheted this cute Hello Kitty ami for my daughter from this free pattern:
arminas-aminals.blogspot.com/2008/03/ami-hello-kitty.html
I took just a couple of hours and very little yarn. I switched to an I hook to make it bigger.
A round up of some of my Dec. 2012 crochet jewelry cord experiments, which became 3 new pattern releases:
"Sweet Almonds Jewelry Set," "Irish Pearl Knot Cords," and the freepattern article, "Puffpearls Cord and Guide." (See my Flickr profile for links.)
Stitches shown are Irish Pearl Knots, Pillowpuffs, Puffpearls, and Bow Tie Picots, in a range of fibers, yarn sizes, beading methods.
One of my favorites to crochet, look at, and wear (although I need to get a new skein in a different color).
"Luckyslip" fingerless mitt 100% crocheted of Bosnian slip stitch and ribbing.
It was difficult to photograph enough stitch and ply definition because of the tomato red color.
Yarn: Karabella Yarns Aurora 8. I couldn't find my Filatura di Crosa Zara, which seems to have the same plying and texture. High amount of plies and final s-twist gives a very smooth and elegant crocheting experience. Richly soft and stretchy with a buttery sheen.

Beach Cover Up/Poncho:
Point-to-Point Tunisian Filet with Twisted Bead Drops.
A convertible layer edged as you go with “water droplets” (beaded twisted loops that require no pre-stringing). Yarn: DesigningVashti Lotus, 100g Crystal Blue color with small accent amounts of Teal Glimmer and Bamboo Green.
This is Tunisian filet crochet trimmed with moss stitch that can be seamed (by lacing) different ways for a convertible poncho, vest/tunic, shawl. The accent band can be worn in the front and back for a v-neck or at the shoulders for a bateau head opening.
Scarf look.
Sister Act features love knots (solomons knots, lover's knot stitch) in a shawl that easily converts to a bolero-style shrug with two short seams. Crochet design by Vashti Braha, published in the summer 2013 issue of Interweave Crochet magazine.
Yarn: The Alpaca Yarn Co. Astral (alpaca, tencel, wool blend).

The letters are Tunisian crochet for a change. They flowed off the hook surprisingly easily. I had to rip out and redo very little of it. Surprising because letters are the ultimate shaping challenge.
Crocheted with two strands held together throughout except the letters. I had a white and cream on hand at the time I started swatching, so they’re a strand of each color.
