My wife's hobby is crocheting and she's really quite good (and fast) at it. Each colored hook is a different size used to make a tighter or looser weave of the yarn.

Shot for Macro Mondays, Hook

A very long time ago, I crocheted this little pouch to hold my Apple iPod Nano.... I have no idea how it works anymore, but I kept this pouch hanging on a knob in my sewing room!

No, not mine :)) but one of my sister's hobbies.

Crochet work is a popular handicraft that involves creating fabric by using a crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn, thread, or other materials. The process of creating crochet work involves inserting the hook into the stitches and pulling up loops of yarn to create a fabric. The fabric can be used to create a wide range of items such as clothing, accessories, home decor, and more.

Crocheting is my hobby so I need many hooks for that. And some yarn.

My pattern for Sunburst is this:

Chain 5, sl st together to make a ring

Round 1: ch 2 then make 11dc into the ring, sl st together and fasten off

Round 2: In each space make a bobble (see the link above how to make one), so altogether you must have 12 bobbles, sl st together and fasten off

Round 3: in each space make 3dc, ch1 (that's the third ring) and again sl st together and fasten off

Round 4: ch 5 + 2dc in the same space (this will make a half corner), 3 dc in the next 2 spaces, then comes corner - 3dc, ch2, 3 dc, then again 3dc in the next 2 spaces, corner again till you are to the first half corner - just make 2dc, sl st together and fasten off. So there you are.

I just finished my crocheted chair cover. :-)

Admiring the architecture in Rome we came across this Smart car which had been decorated with a natty, crocheted cover! Never seen anything like this before!

ADDED 25/7/10 Found out that this was done by the artist Magda Sayeg for the Roman Arts Festival, “Il Lusso Essenziale.” Thanks for all the pointers!

I'm glad so many of you have added this as a favourite - but please don't repost on your own photostream without an acknowledgment. Thanks.

This is a soccer ball I crocheted using the very popular African Flower Hexagon, and a pentagon pattern I devised to work with the African Flower Hexagon.

It has recently been nominated for a crochet award and you can see the other nominees and cast your vote here:

My deceased mother loved to crochet carriage blankets for each of our newborn children. She made a large one for herself which I now wrap myself in at night :) This is a small section of a doll's blanket that she made from the remnant yarn.
