This dark rose pink Crepe Myrtle is a striking tree loaded with blooms. It gives beautiful color to people’s yards and to my photostream. Okay, now I have flowers out of my system for awhile. HMM

we planted two of these trees back in the summer

sure hope they survive being buried

This entrance to an estate is lined with Crepe Myrtle trees in full bloom.

Had a front blow thru this morning and the crepe myrtle flowers were blown everywhere, one in the patio bench cushion that is a blue cushion.

A little beauty to start the week. The Covid-19 cases are soaring in our county.

I apologize for being way behind on commenting. Have a great week.

Virginia Beach in July

I simply can`t resist.....:-))

Red flower made out of crepe paper. I have a bunch of these in different colours which a friend gave me once. Very practical, you can hide them in a cupboard when you don't need them and get them out and give them shape again when you want colour in the room

I underexposed here because the colour became more intensive and then I tweaked it a little with LR filters

I was pleased that for once I managed a red image (nudge, nudge Mr. T) because it's so rare for me

they seem to be a little later than usual blossoming this summer, but they are looking pretty good now - HTMT!

Cinquième photo d'une série au marché Jean-Talon

Fifth photo of a series at the Jean-Talon market

Myrtle was my great great aunt.

Of four sisters, she was exceptional.

Her husband, however, not so much!

He was a horrible farmer.

He literally didn’t know his way around a barn.

So, instead of sitting around and moaning,

She decided to tat.

Tatting is this thing people do with their hands

When they like to make hours and reality fancy

A manic frenzied finger filled fun

Tablecloths and three dimensional flowers standing in a vase

Intricate human spiderwebs made to last

An unreal amazing woman!

She made her own patterns out of her life.

Myrtle also had a huge garden.

She liked to use her hands in the dirt.

Getting close to the Earth where she’d eventually join

Planting seeds and watching patiently

Observing how each one took in the sun

at different angles and was changed.

When you live long enough, you can learn to wait for things.

I visited Myrtle when I was young (under 10) in Pennsylvania

A young girl beholds a woman nearly 100 years older

Wondering if that will be her future, too.

Myrtle lived to be 107.

She lived on her own until she was over 100,

tatting and making fudge.

When asked what her secret was, she said

She never ate greasy food (and chocolate makes you live longer.)

All of these things are true.
