That's what my/our secret project was ! A handmade inspiration board, made out of :
- bamboo sticks (4)
- cotton tape (6 meters)
- tiny nails (20)
- thread
- hemp twine
We'll be building another one next week. This one will be an "Inspiration Board", the other one will be an "Idea Board". (for my ideas)
Total cost ?
TEN euros for BOTH boards.
(U$ 15.00 I suppose)
The reason for this board ?
I didn't want to drill a big hole in the wall for a metallic board, I could hand string (like I used to do in Chessy), I had other ideas but they cost more.
So this idea came to my mind. It's lightweight, ecological & economical. Perfect.

Reid Signs stripped off the polyurethane coating from this guitar body and then produced deeply carved detail into the body and headstock. This photo shows half of the polyurethane stripped off leaving behind the beautiful wood underneath.

We produced 15 custom logos for these Epiphone Les Paul Standards. The logos have an epoxy finish that is torched out to produce a stunning glass like finish. It also dimensionalizes the logo making it tactile.
Seems like everything we do ends up turning tinto an art project. This dinner party was no exception. We hung some LED lights on our canopy and Jake Schlumberger, our shop guy, grabbed my Canon G12 and started shooting. This is what he came up with.

He works on a national scale and his methods have put the little guys right up there next to the big guys. He commssioned hand lettering guru Bob Behoenek to produce a quote that Dan uses frequently with his clients. Bob is legendary for his unique style of brush lettered script, so after Dan got ahold of Bob's lettering, they came to us to bring it all to life. We studied the location that the piece would be, developed a shape to contain the lettering, fabricated the acrylic components using a variety of methods including hand shaping, painted and assembled the piece, then lit it up with green halo lighting. It really turned out sharp and looks awesome on the wall in his ad agency.

Floor lamp, that led ceiling light we installed looks lovely, but doesn't provide enough light for this size room at night. During the day? No need for any light.

Revisitng some old Flickr photos and uploading them again here while I remember how much I enjoyed setting up these creative spaces in old apartments and living situations. My first Mac, getting my first DSLR, trying to build a space that felt conducive to creative things that meant a lot to me.

These cabinets are chocked full of photographs needing to be scanned, scrapbooked, filed...They are loosely organized. Believe it or not.

Interior shot shows how the media components will be stored. An X-Box unit, power supply, games, controllers, etc. all fit nicely inside.
