# 🎨 *The Painting in the Artist*

In a gallery tucked between the steel veins of the city, where concrete met canvas and neon flirted with nostalgia, she stood—unapologetically bold, a living brushstroke against a riot of color. Her name was Sera, and she wasn’t just in the painting. She was the painting.

Clad in a sleek black leather outfit that clung to her like a second skin, Sera’s presence was magnetic. Her red hair cascaded in waves, catching the gallery lights and seeming to bleed into the abstract backdrop behind her—an explosion of swirling color, splashes of electric blue, citrus orange, and fuchsia that danced like emotion made visible. The painting behind her was hers, but it was also her mirror.

She had painted it in a fevered burst of self-expression, each stroke a declaration of defiance, each swirl a rebellion against conformity. The canvas was large, almost overwhelming, but it bowed to her presence. Viewers didn’t just admire the art—they felt it, as if her confidence had seeped into the pigments themselves.

Sera’s pose was deliberate: chin lifted, one hand on her hip, the other relaxed, fingers stained with dried paint. Her black jacket, tailored and edgy, framed her like punctuation in a sentence of color. She didn’t smile, but her eyes held a spark—an invitation to see not just the art, but the artist. Not just the woman, but the force.

Around her, the gallery buzzed with murmurs and admiration. Some called it street art elevated to high fashion. Others saw emotional depth in the chaos. But all agreed on one thing: Sera had turned the act of painting into performance, and the performance into portraiture.

She was the muse and the maker, the canvas and the color. In a world that often-demanded softness, she chose sharpness. In a culture that prized subtlety, she embraced spectacle. And in that moment, framed by her own creation, she reminded everyone that true artistry isn’t just about what you make—it’s about who you dare to be.

Antique Singer Sewing Machine

Crown Fountain is an interactive work of public art and video sculpture featured in Chicago's Millennium Park, which is located in the Loop community area. Designed by Catalan artist Jaume Plensa and executed by Krueck and Sexton Architects, it opened in July 2004. The fountain is composed of a black granite reflecting pool placed between a pair of glass brick towers. The towers are 50 feet tall, and they use light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to display digital videos on their inward faces. Construction and design of the Crown Fountain cost $17 million.

A new gallery is starting to take shape in Sydney’s inner suburb chippendale where the brick facade is now fully visible. 1000’s of these small grey toned bricks create curves and waves that rise above you, it’s really stunning! The interior space is comprised of 3 sections; the gallery, a performance space and a central garden to link them all together.

The idea was initiated by a private patron whereby each element is authored by a different hand.

Another design from the original Christmas bulb image. As with the other, I ran that through the Android "Mirror Lab" app and then took the kaleidoscopes I made and used the PIP (Picture in Picture) editor in "Photo Studio Pro" to put the scopes in Christmas bulbs plus blurred out behind the bulbs and greens. I then used the paint function to add the sparkles and then added the light gold frame. I hope you enjoy the image (also available on Zedge as free phone wallpaper), and here again is my Christmas message for all...

May this season bring all (whosoever will) to The Reason (Jesus) why we need the promises it carries and the hope it provides. As life returns to the hectic pace of its march to the ever-increasing beats and "you can do it all" messages, may we keep our eyes on the prize that is beyond this temporary world and its troubles. London, UK, 28th April 2026, Fashion Industry maverick NIGO has his first retrospective exhibition at the Design Museum in London. The visionary designer and creative director is credited as one of the first designers to bridge the worlds of streetwear and luxury fashion. One of the founding fathers of ‘hype culture’, NIGO has applied his creative mind to some of the world’s most recognisable brands and cultural icons, as well as pioneering his own streetwear and luxury fashion labels. Exhibition opens 1st May to 4 October 2026.

Luke Ramsey is awesome. He creates beautiful, intricate pieces of artwork that include zines, murals, paintings and prints. He also runs Islands Fold, an independent publisher and artist residency in B.C., Canada.

We ran into Luke last summer at the Portland Zine Symposium, and saw him sketching in a Scout Book! Quickly gave him another, and within weeks he had filled it up and sent us images. At long last, here is what the fantastic Luke Ramsey did with the 32 grid pages of a Scout Book.
