After driving past the High Wych Scarecrow Festival on several occasions in past years, I finally decided to see what it was all about. I’m glad I did.
I spent a pleasant couple of hours wandering through this charming Hertfordshire village with my camera, looking for scenes that felt quintessentially British and this one captured the mood perfectly.
From the thatched cottage in the background to the bee-themed wedding party and the smiling children posing in front, everything about this moment radiated community spirit, creativity, and joy.
The care and imagination that had gone into these handmade scarecrows was remarkable — from flower girls in lace to choirboys in red robes. A true village celebration, rich in humour and heart.
Sometimes the best images are waiting when you take the time to slow down and look.

"Music plays a special role in my life as a method of expressing my mood and feelings. I often give situations in my life corresponding music or sounds. Naturally, along with music, dance follows as one of the strongest ways of expressing myself." -Simone Haupt, Artist.
Simone Haupt’s book shows portraits of people in Berlin who have had a large impact on her life, all playing a part in the soundtrack of the city. The many street musicians, operas, theaters, galleries, small stages, pubs and music schools in Berlin influenced the art on the pages of this book. A musical journey begins.
Technical drawer Simone Haupt grew up in Bad Kissingen in Northern Bavaria and is now studying in Berlin. She chose a red Kolo Newbury to create this work.

CreativeMornings theme for May was VIBRANT.
When was the last time you experienced something that made you feel more alive? Heard a melody pulsing with a beat that made your body move. Taken in the view of a lush landscape or sparkling city skyline bursting with light and shadows. Locked eyes with a striking stranger. Poured yourself into prose that crackles off the page with electricity. Lost track of time in a conversation punctuated by spirited laughter. Stopped in your tracks in front of a canvas in a museum or a mural on the street with colors so bold and bright it popped from the paint straight into your synapses.
It might not happen every day. But you can live a life full of energy and enthusiasm. You can strive to bring brightness into every interaction.
Because our world is full of all kinds of vibrant masterpieces. And you are one of them.

Berlin native Florian Bartelt has worked throughout the city using different outlets to express his art. In 2005, his work was displayed at the large ceramic exhibition, "Der helle Wahnsinn." He used a red Kolo Newport photo album to illustrate his interpretation of the city where he was raised.
As the subject of his book, Florian illustrates the varying and everyday cultural influences which are present throughout the city. The city's complex diversity of culture is brought to the reader’s attention by the combination of pictures, lino-prints and photocopies collaged together.

Freelance photographer, diversity trainer, “Segeblatt” magazine editor and recently proclaimed songwriter Vinzenz Fengler has experienced many aspects of Berlin during the last eight years. He reflected on his time spent in the city in order to create this work in a black Kolo Cortina Lux for the Berlin exhibition:
“Words and images which were inspired by the city have been combined with newly written text. In doing this, I am trying to personify the city and convey the effect it has had over me.”
Vinzenz Fengler founded the Youth Galerie Institute in Berlin-Wedding and is a very active member of the creative community.
