On a Sunday evening – when I felt, the time was right – I took an egg
out, and thought, I would have a little chat with it.
“So, how was your day?”
“Nothing special, sitting around, waiting for the big break.”
“You don't have anything to tell me then?” – and, I know, I could have been a little bit more specific at this point, but I wasn't sure how to put it.
It went pale, and nearly passed out right there, in the pan.
“No, not really, I don't think there is anything you and me should or could discuss.” - said the egg.
We sat there for a while. The shoppers slowly all drove away from the mall across the road, the road sweeper started his endless night shift, and the city sky was all lit up.
“Are you sure, you want to hear this?” - whispered the egg.

Each of the two planes of this design were created with separate techniques. The background of green and black was created using pencil & ruler for every line, while the foreground subject was, in total opposition, drawn completely freehand. Also, the forms find definition from different qualities. The green and black coloration reminds me of a jungle or forest setting, in which the oddly warping lines of the central subject make me picture the writhing awkwardness of something working its way free from its captive state.

From the Kauffman Foundation's website: "The Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden draws inspiration from the couple’s journey through life and their commitment to share with others. It is an enduring gift for Kansas City that extends the legacy of a gracious couple and welcomes visitors to a vibrant landscape throughout the year. The Kauffmans’ world travels inspired the creation of a space comparable to parks throughout Europe. The garden features bronze sculptures by Tom Corbin among lush and colorful annual and perennial plantings, pruned foliage framed by stone walls, brick walkways and playful fountains. Open year-round through autumn’s crisp winds, winter’s quiet chill, the renewal of spring, and the warm summer sun, the Memorial Garden is the final resting place for Ewing and Muriel Kauffman. It provides a tranquil place where everyone is welcome and the Kauffman legacy continues to grow. Powell Gardens, in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation, manages and maintains the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden. In addition to tending the perennial beds and many unique trees, the staff and volunteers change the annual plant displays at least four times a year."
