Smile on Saturday: Umbrellas
It's not a very big umbrella but my Granddaughter had such a lovely time creating this collage of sticky foam shapes, stickers, cutting & pasting and drawing.
I thought it was more fun than anything else I could do. HSoS 😀⛱
A row of craft beads, used to make children's bracelets or necklaces etc.
The row is 2.75 inches long, threaded onto a piece of black wire and stood on a piece of black gloss plastic..
Macro Monday theme; In A Row
Happy Macro Monday folks !!
We're in the between seasons stage where it can snow one day, as it will in the next couple of days when my snow tires are due to come off, rain the next, and everything in the landscape is still brown. Not very inspiring for photography. The birds have it together, though, and have begun pairing up and building nests. These lovebirds are pretty crafty as they keep warm balanced on one leg and appear to be sleeping. However, a closer look indicates at least one eye open watching me closely!
I made this a few years ago when we moved into our new to us home. It is the first and only one I have ever made lol
It's still here in the office :) I am still trying to find stuff I like to do besides photography.... Haven't found it yet, but I am not done trying :)
One of the things Tim and I assumed we'd shoot plenty of on this trip was lush creek scenes. While we spent plenty of time on the creeks, we came across very few that were ideal. This may have been my best creek shot of the week, and it was on the very first evening. It certainly gave me a better appreciation for those truly exceptional creek scenes, and the fact that their locations are well guarded secrets. I got wet shooting this scene, and that set the tone for me pretty much being wet the entire trip.
Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

One of NZ's native parrots has discovered the pedal which opens the box full of nuts. We have a bird sanctuary near Dunedin which is fenced to protect the birds from their unnatural predators introduced to New Zealand by settlers from other countries. From Wikipedia: "As tree cavity nesters with a long incubation period that requires the mother to stay on the nest for at least 90 days, kaka are particularly vulnerable to predation. Stoats were the main cause of death of nesting adult females, nestlings and fledglings, but possums were also important predators of adult females, eggs and nestlings."
Thanks very much for comments, faves or invites.
