If there's one place that consistently takes my breath away, it'd be Cley, of course. This was a difficult shot because I was shooting into the sun. The bench looks very grand. It has a fabulous view over the marshes.

It's not a lodge of Island Borkum ;-)

Ezekiel 35:8-9 “And I will fill his mountains with his slain. In thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy water-courses shall they fall that are slain with the sword. I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not be inhabited: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.”

This picture is from Flores, Azores. I only just found it again. I liked the yellow flowers which were all over the place. Of course I don't know what they are, maybe someone can tell me.

This is an archive image that I have never uploaded anywhere. It was transformed from color to B n W for this week's themed group, Smile on Saturday. The theme is "HIGH CONTRAST PORTRAIT in B&W".

Jack was in the yard adjusting sprinklers. He was soaked from head to toe. I was out taking photos of butterflies and birds. However, the most interesting subject in the yard at the time was Jack. So, I turned the camera towards him.

We were engaging in normal conversation as he was working away. Of course, I was click, click, clicking away. Suddenly, Jack looked up and I was caught. I love the fact that after all these years the moment he looks at me, a big grin appears on his face.

Have a wonderful day and happy snapping.

If you're looking for a peaceful and picturesque setting, you can't beat a golf course. The actual game of golf, maybe not so soothing.....

The Charlene A and crew heading out. The cabin light is on, steaming along at 7.5 knots. The fog is heavy, you can smell and taste the salt in the air. It's time to go fishing.

I am not sure about this image, the surface of Loch Stack was heavily rippled by the wind and uninviting but I persevered with a 10 stop ND filter resulting in a 30 second exposure. What do you think?

🇺🇸 ️Golf, a landscape apart?

A sunrise can be a magical moment when the sky sprinkles long clouds on the horizon. And if it happens behind a row of birch trees, the branches down to the ground, then it imposes a few minutes of meditation in the morning silence. It is then difficult to concentrate on the right settings for the shot, the eyes and the fingers sweating with cold. Yet this is a 🌳golf🌳, not a vast, quiet natural plain.

Long-tongued bats (Glossophaga soricina) feeding from nectar of a flowering tree at the Braulio Carrillo National Park in Costa Rica.

These bats have the fastest metabolism ever recorded in a mammal, similar to those of hummingbirds. Although it uses 50% of its stored fat over the course of a day, over 80% of its energy comes directly from the simple sugars that compose its diet of nectar.
