How many ways have our lives improved with the ability to instantly review our shots?
A pair of Northern Shovelers out for a spin. It is always difficult to catch two that are close together.
It goes both ways since I was fixated on this bird for several days
The bird had spotted something behind me...likely a chipmunk as it seemed fixated on chipmunks and was the only thing it hunted for a couple of days ( cooler weather had the chipmunks return to their burrows).
The world and its troubles seem miles away when you are traveling or living in the far north.
While waiting for the ferry to carry us across the Yukon River - I spotted this couple from the mid-west posing for a picture. The woman grabbed a cigar from her husband - stuck it in her mouth - and did her best to look tough, while she held a copy of the "Yukon News" newspaper in front of her. It cracked me up, as I'm sure it did her family when they saw it. I don't usually snap pictures of people - but I could not resist this one. Hope it brings a smile to your face.
*(Zoom in to see her priceless expression)
Another contre jour image from this same location. I love the simplicity of this type of photography, like a hunter waiting for it's prey, patience is required to ensure pleasing positioning of the people
The bass player taking a break with his wife.
I found a box of slides at an antique shop in the Hudson Valley a few months ago. There were about sixty slides in total from maybe a dozen or so rolls of film. A couple of the slides have a processing date of 1961. None of the slides have identifying information but they all appear to have belonged to the same person or family.
