In a society that has you counting money, pounds, calories and steps, be a rebel and count your blessings instead.
Sometimes while observing nature it reminds me to count my blessings. When my daughter was about ten years old once said, "I don't have everything I want but I have everything I need." You can learn a lot listening to children too.
Found on a walk in the woods today. New phenomenon where a lot of people are starting to paint rocks with positive messages or to cheer people up. They leave them in a public type place, didn't realize you're supposed to look on the back to see if they have a facebook group, then you can take a pic and post it. So I figured I would share it this way! Have a good day!!

That i have so many sweet and funny friends...a loving and wonderful family (if not a bit insane!!), a hobby (or two or three...) that i enjoy immensely...there is SO much i have, that completes me...
Many of you know that i am not comfortable in front of the lens...only behind it, but once again i made a choice to step out of my zone of comfort. my first instinct was to tell Kerry NO, when she asked if she could take my picture by the falls to remember this fun trip...and the word no did slip from my lips...but, then i thought better of it...i conceded and gave her one shot...she did a wonderful job of capturing me, hot and sweaty with no makeup...and it doesn't look absolutely abominable to me! Am i changing that much?? I wonder...
A BIG thank you to all of my flickr family for their love, help and support of me and my hobbies! ((HUGS)) Love you all!

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
This was taken 3 years ago, Dec 2006, at a show in Bournemouth, Dorset, UK.
Shot info: Canon EOS 30D, focal length 17mm, f4, 1/60 sec, ISO 1250, zero cropping
The stage was dark as hell and when it came off my camera you could hardly see him at all...it's been post edited quite a lot to get it to look like this.
The original shot was green, as it came off my camera like that, but I much prefer it now I've edited the colour levels properly.
This image has been widely posted across the internet, including the band's Myspace. It still amazes me when people tell me they didn't know who took it...the original copy sent to the band was poorly watermarked though and it has never been credited.
There's a story behind every picture...and not always happy ending fairytale ones. Maybe I'll tell you one day about this one.
Edit: This has been viewed over 250,000 times on the band's myspace page. I can only imagine what that figure might be had they not deleted and reuploaded it when they redesigned their page for the latest album launch.

today was a good day.. i managed to get him to take a nap and i got my 365 shot done the process.. as difficult as this 'terrible 2s' period is..i still feel like i am the luckiest.. most blessed mommy in the whole world to have my incredible golden child

Melancholy were the sounds on a winters night.
For most of us winter is the time for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and a talk next to an open fire.
For most of us.
When I feel that things aren't going my way or life is dealing me a bad card I take time out and think of the people I've photographed over the years an old cliche but it puts things in to perspective.
Yesterday while walking I saw an old lady, who was fishing with her two grandchildren. She tried to make it so nice for them. they were sitting on a plaid in the sun, on a small wooden bridge. But one of the girls had a very dissatisfied face, like a thunderstorm, her smile was totally fallen off and it made her ugly. After seeing that, I felt so sorry for the grandma, but am truly wishing and hoping that this little girl one day will count her blessings and realizes that life is about the little things.

It's raining here now, which was predicted, so yesterday afternoon, the Mr. and I went for a bike ride. (You have to see his new bike... note to self, take photo)
When we returned, we found that our car, which had been parked across the street from our place, was now about 40 ft from where we had left it and... up on the curb.
Someone had hit it... and you guessed it, RAN.
Yes, lest we forget, there are those people out there.
Well, only our bumper was the worse for wear and the idiot who did it (we - along with the police - are inclined to think AFTER a few Friday mid-afternoon cocktails) broke his/her oil gasket or whatever, it was in parts in the street, along with a telltale gushing of oil tracking the escape. So as our friendly neighborhood police officer said when we showed it to him... "chances are, he isn't going far."
We were just happy one of us was not getting in or out of the car at the time, there were no pedestrians crossing, etc. And maybe the individual in the car will learn his/her lesson and change their ways.
So there you have it. A little bit of bad luck, but actually a whole lot of good.
Um, I think that's a rosy outlook. Comes in handy sometimes. =D
Catch you all later. Some work to complete for Monday... rainy Saturdays are ok for that and Benny promised to stop flickring and help me ;D.

In 2016 We brought Cohiba cigars from Cuba. We wanted to wait until a special occasion to smoke. This 2020 Thanksgiving was that occasion. Here, my brother in law enjoys Cohiba.
