Third shot of this Corvette, which is a continuation type derivative based on the 1963 Grand Sport.
In side profile you get some idea of the size of those headlamp protectors that stick out quite a substantial way from the car, which in close racing must make life interesting.

The clean lines and distinctive design of the 1963- 67 Corvette Sting Ray will never become unfashionable or out of style. . .

It seems to me that truly elegant designs like this are a fluke because they are inevitably replaced by worse and worse designs until they stumble across another elegant design.
So yesterday I had to take my car to the local General Motors dealership at Castle Hill (Victoria Road) for its 40,000km service, and whilst waiting I wandered into the adjoining GMSV (General Motors Special Vehicles) dealership - and look what I discovered.
It's a silver-grey 3LT GMSV Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. It is, surprisingly, a normally aspirated motor (no turbo) and yet gets to 100km per hour in 2.9 seconds. It has an amazing power-to-weight ratio.
Yet, in saying all that, I think any Tesla electric vehicle will beat it down the street. Hence, I note, the first electric Stingray arrives in 2025.

This, too, is from the Goodguys Car Show of 2016, located at the Fairgrounds, Puyallup, Washington. I particularly like hot rods, but if I were to pick a favorite Corvette style, this one would rank right up there! I don't know the particulars (I should ask my husband! ha!), but if you are a car enthusiast, please feel free to leave it in the comments.
My husband just loves cars, and Corvettes in particular, so we enjoy going to car shows whenever we get the chance...and take lots n' lots of pictures! ha! I tell him he ought to be a photographer for a car magazine, but he hasn't done it yet! ha!

It's not easy to think of a car more iconic than the Corvette. The old ones were so stunning in their beautiful lines, and a visceral driving experience. I'm sad I never got to print this in a darkroom.
