In a field on one of my local walks there are the remains of a railway wagon. Doubtless years ago it was a cheap way of storing fodder near the animals, but now it stands under some trees, sadly forlorn.
But rusty too! And full of texturally appealing pealing paint... The strange things we feel compelled to photograph :)
Thank you for taking time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Crazy Tuesday!
I'm very grateful for all your visits and would like to thank you now for stopping by, and any comments you may leave. Much appreciated, John...

This is a re-do of an image I posted quite a few years ago. Fortunately I like photographing rusty stuff because in the 50+ years that we've lived here, a lot of our stuff has gotten rusty... Really rusty.

It was erected on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition that was held in Paris in 1889, according to the design of the engineer Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. Although it had to be disassembled so that this exhibition ended, it was decided not to do so.
When it was built it was the tallest monument in the world, 300 meters high, and weighed around 7,300 tons.
Depending on the ambient temperature, the peak of the Eiffel Tower can approach or move away from the base about eight centimeters, due to the thermal expansion of the metal.
The maintenance of the tower includes the application of fifty tons of paint every five years, with the intention of protecting it from corrosion.
