Heute vor einem Jahr war ich das letzte Mal auf Helgoland. Als ich nach Hause kam gab es den ersten Lockdown und zur Zeit gibt es keine Möglichkeit auf die Insel zu reisen. Helgoland ist meine Lieblingsinsel und ich vermisse sie so sehr.
Today a year ago I was on Helgoland for the last time. When I got home there was the first lockdown and for now there is no way to travel to the island. Helgoland is my favourite island and I miss it so much.
Der Wallfahrtsort "Madonna della Corona" befindet sich auf der östlichen Seite des Monte Baldo - Massivs unweit des Gardasees im Veneto, Norditalien. Wie ein Adlerhorst klebt er auf 773m in einer Schwindel erregenden Höhe an einer steil abfallenden Felswand über dem Etschtal.
Es ist ein Ort der sanften Stille und Meditation, zwischen Himmel und Erde schwebend.

I used low power on two speed lights to back light my subject and to illuminate the splashes of water being thrown on to the bottle of Corona.
This picture was taken before the Moon was entering penumbra. As I was preparing to take pictures of the eclipse the brilliant super moon came through a magnificent Corona cloud.

The full moon was shining high up in the sky. The moonlight passing through the thin clouds produced a beautiful lunar corona (or aureole), i.e., light diffracted by icy particles in the clouds. It was not easy to make a right choice of exposure to reproduce the bright moon pattern and the much fainter corona together in a shot.

Daar wij met onze Class 66 de 5538 overbrachten van Raeren naar Mariembourg, onstond bij mij het idee om wat te doen met onze Class 66 op de museumlijn van de “Chemin de Fer à Vapeur des 3 Vallées” tussen Treignes en Mariembourg. Het zou toch mooi zijn als we met onze locomotief eens tot in Treignes mochten rijden…
Na wat onderhandelen met meerdere partijen kreeg ik toestemming om een fotorit te organiseren met onze Class 66 tussen Mariembourg en Treignes. Helaas door alle corona maatregelen moest deze rit gereden worden in zeer beperkte kring. (reden genoeg om deze rit te herhalen in het postcorona tijdperk)
Onze Class 66 bleef in de nacht van 12 op 13 december overnachten in Mariembourg.
Na het opstarten en een foto in blauwe uur werd de Class 66 voor een sleep L rijtuigen geplaatst.. Okee… Dit is zeker niet historisch verantwoord, maar tot ieders verbazing paste het geheel toch mooi samen. Rond 9u00 werd er dan vertrokken richting Treignes met talrijke fotostops onderweg, in Treignes werd kop gemaakt en vervolgens werd er terug gereden naar Mariembourg. Eens in Mariembourg aangekomen werd de loc losgekoppeld en vertrok onmiddellijk om 15u00 weer richting Aachen-West.

A pastel hued corona rings the sun. Diffraction of sunlight by small water droplets, ice crystals or small dust particles produced it.
