The sandstone underlying the dark desert varnish is poorly cemented. Removing the varnish to generate these pictographs exposes the sandstone to erosion to wind and also water. As a result, the pictographs are several centimeters deep, giving them this characteristic three dimensional appearance.
The State of Connecticut is often referred-to, quite cynically, as New York City's bedroom community. While small in geographic size, Connecticut offers myriad residential styles, often times disclosing the economic beginnings of its villages and towns, and they range from near-shanty structures to humongous mansions. These houses are typical of northwest Connecticut, a place where the local economies were largely historically working class. These not-quite-row-house homes are sometimes called Depression-era houses, but were typically built between 1900 and 1930.

I sifted cornflour over this tiny star cookie cutter then moved it around a bit to make some fainter star shapes. Now off to clear up the mess. HMM

Mini cookie cutters of my grandma's. These little guys are an inch small. I am not sure what sort of cookies one would make with this? Bite sized? :)

With its double front entry, this is part of a large addition that I am making to my Bay View album. Bay View is a community of summer cottages near Petoskey, Michigan. Most of these additional photographs are highlighting the great number of porch styles in the community. Taken on an drizzling, overcast day.
And as Gina said under my “Seven Up” porch, the houses in this community are “all-American”, not a cookie-cutter in the place. Available at 17-robert-carter.pixels.com in the “Bay View” collection.

Peanut Butter and Banana Dog and Puppy Treats.
3 Cups of Oats
1 Ripe Banana
3/4 Cup of Peanut Butter
1 egg
Some plain flour if needed later.
Mix all the ingredients in bowl until a dough forms. If it is a little sticky add a little plain flour.
Roll out on a floured work tops, cut into cookies using bone shaped cookie cutter.
Bake at 170 for 14-16 minutes.

...they were talking about some cookie-cutter girl who looked like every other stupid girl in sl. Laughing at her, just standing there, not moving, like a brainless, boring statue. I don't pay a lot of attention to local when I'm shopping, but I saw it go by. I pretty much just cam around, get what I came for, and go.
Took a minute to realize we were the only ones there, and I was - to them - the brainless, boring, cookie-cutter statue. I scrolled back through local - none of it was any nicer.
I wish I could say I said something. Anything. I didn't. I got what I came for, and left.
I wish I could say I let it roll off my back. I didn't.
After a 13 hour day that was pretty much a nightmare from start to finish, walking into someone's public humiliation of me wasn't my favorite way to wrap up, but that's what I got. They don't know me, or what I dealt with, that I already felt like crap, and that I'm worried about how I'm going to deal with tomorrow. I was just some thing to laugh at.
I know it was just words. Everyone's got an opinion, and I ran into theirs. Hell, I've done my share of criticizing what I don't identify with in other people. I just don't do it in local. Sadly, I don't know if that makes me any better.
So, yeah. Just words. It's the disregard behind them that stings. I'm just as guilty.
Maybe today, let's just be kind to each other, k?
