Bridgeton Mill is the oldest continually operating mill in the state of Indiana. It sits directly next to the Bridgeton bridge and they are commonly photographed together. The mill has been open every year since 1823!
This old pickup truck has been restored by the owners of the mill and sits on the corner of their parking lot. Naturally I couldn't resist taking a picture of it with the mill in the background. It is a 1955 Chevy 3100.

Tyre was the largest mercantile city of the Phoenicians, now mostly noted for the archeological remains of its Roman city. Tyre is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. It was added as a whole to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1984.

After experiencing triple digit weather for several days, it was a glorious experience just being outside this morning. I decided to treat myself to playing with water, oil and reflective surfaces and enjoy this usual summer weather.

Thousands of years ago, the area’s native people inhabited Antelope Island; some of their prehistoric artifacts have been found at the ranch. In modern times, the ranch house is the oldest Anglo building still standing on its original foundation in Utah.
Fielding Garr Ranch is located at Garr Springs. Indigenous people and wildlife used this water source long before Fielding Garr built the ranch.
The first permanent structure at this site was a small log cabin built in 1848 by Fielding Garr. Garr had been assigned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to establish a ranch on the island as a stronghold for managing the church tithing herds. Within two years, Garr had expanded the ranch compound to include the adobe ranch house and other out buildings. The ranch was continually inhabited from that time until 1981.
The LDS Church operated the ranch until the mid-1870s. During this era, ranching operations encompassed the entire island. In 1869, the railroad came to Utah, and with it came the first federal surveys of the land. Because the only improvements on the island were around the ranch itself, the federal government opened the rest of the island to homesteading. By the turn of the century, most of the homesteaders had failed to prove their claims. John Dooly Sr., and enterprising businessman and rancher, purchased the entire island and a price of $1,000,000 (approximately $27,800,000 in 2018), and it became the home of his Island Improvement Company.
The ranching operation continued uninterrupted through several owners. Just after the turn of the 20th century, the focus of the ranch turned to sheep. Under the direction of John Dooly Jr., the sheep operation expanded to more than 10,000 sheep to become one of the largest and most industrialized ranching efforts in the western United States. When sheep ranching became unprofitable in the 1950s due to a failing wool market, the operation turned again to cattle. The island ranch continued to function as part of one of the largest commercial cattle operations in the state until the island became a state park in 1981.
April has been filled with continual rain showers which could so easily turn to snow. I always forget that Spring comes slowly and incrementally and patience is required.

The weather closes in on Slieve Comedagh, in the Mourne Mountains, Co. Down.
Its hard to believe that all my eleven photos of these mountains were all taken on the one day, as it shows how the weather just continually changes over a 7 hour period.

The stunning location of the vast Haringvliet inlet has played an important role in the course of the history of Hellevoetsluis; earning it the name of a ‘Fortification town on the Haringvliet'. The Vesting fortress with its harbours and fortifications is steeped in history.

Water and Hellevoetsluis have been connected for centuries. Thanks to its favourable and strategic location on the Haringvliet inlet, at the beginning of the 17th century Hellevoetsluis became a home port for the Dutch war fleet; a port that was later continually fortified, resulting in a unique combination of a fortification town and a war port. The port has been the home port to renowned admirals such as de Ruyter, Tromp and Piet Hein.

Varanasi, India, located on the banks of the river Ganges is one of the world's oldest continually inhabited cities, and one of the holiest in Hinduism. Pilgrims come to the Ganges here to wash away sins in the sacred waters, to cremate their loved ones, or simply to die here, hoping for liberation from the cycle of rebirth.
Varanasi has been a cultural center of northern India for several thousand years. The city is known worldwide for its many Ghats, embankments made in steps of stone slabs along the river bank where pilgrims perform ritual ablutions.
(A funeral pyre is a structure made of wood for burning a body as part of a funeral rite. As a form of cremation, a body is placed upon or under the pyre, which is then set on fire)

It was wonderful to see this beautiful Sparkling Violetear in action. When the sun hit his feathers the iridescence came to life it's beauty was breathtakingly beautiful . One could sit for hours observing the many species that cam to the gardens to feed on a continual basis. It was so exciting and very hard to leave when the time came. You could not help but love them all.

These showy wildflowers are 1-2" across and are usually blue to purple, but may also be pink, white or red. They only remain open for a day (blooming in morning hours and closing at night), but the flowers will continually bloom for up to four to six weeks in the summer. Best viewed large.

I think the majority of us are guilty of taking the humble honey bee for granted. Their plant pollination is critical to the life of plant and their continual annual occurrence. In moderation honey is also a natural super food. Bees if left alone also don't bother humans. Well, unless you act like my daughter and throw your arms frantically around the moment one comes nearby.
This particular bee was photographed at the National Trust property at Acorn Bank where a series of hives are kept adjacent to the property gardens and orchard.

Tuross Head has lakes and estuaries from the west and near the coast they arrange to the north and south sides. This is a view of the estuary on the southern side, which is more extensive than the lake and creek entrance on the northern side. This area quite shallow and the water colour continually changing depending on things such as light, clouds and rain. Tuross Head South Coast of NSW.

I ummed and ahhed about visiting this location. But I'm glad I did. A beautiful place helped by the fantastic conditions today.
I hope I've given my take on it. I took lots of frames, continually fine tuning the compositions. A relaxing hour and a half that flew by.

This spot is in the Southern Flinders Ranges, just north of the delightful town of Burra, South Australia.
It was mid-afternoon and a storm front was passing through with bands of rain, hailstones, and a gusting wind so strong that I found it impossible to stand in the one spot as I had to continually move about to avoid being blown off my feet.
I turned my 4W/D sideways to form both a wind break and shelter from the rain which soon eased, and this scene was captured through the open window of the driver’s door.
As can be seen in this capture, the sky was a swirling mass of clouds of every description, all rushing headlong across the sky as they headed south.
It was absolutely freezing cold, and the forecast indicated that snow was possible. As far as I know, snow did not eventuate however, I soon headed for warmer surrounds at Broken Hill before returning a couple of days later.

Tasman Lake is continually formed from Tasman Glacier - part of Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The glacier face stands 160 ft (50 meters) tall. Water temperature is 3c (37f)
A common bird found from the start of rainy season and the till the start of summer next year. The bird prefers these wet, shallow fields, lake beds, banks where it continually hunts for insects and food and is always quite busy. The habitat is shared by other birds like the Pheasant tailed Jacana, Swamphen, Moorhen etc.. Interestingly, the two Jacana species often fight each other quite a lot for territory.
This was a target bird of mine for a shot in flight as I find it very beautiful - especially the golden hues on the wings. Shooting this bird in flight requires us to get down to the ground level since it flies just a feet or two high and hence its a tough shot. Luckily for me, it flew a bit higher this time around since the Paddy fields were higher giving me my shot.

Bass Rock is an island in the outer part of the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland. Over a mile offshore, and three miles north-east of North Berwick, it is a steep-sided volcanic rock, 351 ft above sea level at its highest point, and is home to over 100,000 northern gannets, many hundreds of which seem to be continually in the air, circling the rock. The cliff on the left, at the western end of Seacliff Bay, is known as The Gegan.
Salt formations are much like sand dunes; they are continually changing.
They form from small bumps, and then wind and waves push and pull, and overtime, they grow. When submerged, they change again.

The first song on my breakfast disco playlist wasThe Promised Land by The Felice Brothers. The Promised Land for me would be spending evenings and mornings alone on the beach waiting for shafts of sunlight to sear the wet sand . We are in a. continual spell of amazing weather, gone are my favourite wild changeable skies. Perhaps they're waiting for my return to the beach before whipping up a. storm :)) I think I'll go for a. bike ride and chase a few butterflies today.
This is one of two male Great Spotted Woodpeckers that visit our woodland feeders each day and is the most dominant of the pair, continually trying to chase the other one ( unsuccessfully ) away.
He had just been chasing the other male high up in a tree and then suddenly swept down to this branch just a few feet away from me and hung there for a few seconds looking at me.

Southerndown beach at sunset is a continual draw, inviting me to go and watch the day fade into night, or watch an explosion of colour. Down all the days, is a Pogues track, and I seem to be!
In 1416, the Dirksland polder was reclaimed as the first polder in present-day Overflakkee. This makes the village of the same name the oldest village on Overflakkee. Dirksland is a ring polder, a fact clearly visible on maps and aerial photographs. The most important and also the oldest building in Dirksland is the church. The churchyard, with its largely still-extant church moat, enhances the church's monumental character. Voostraat is the main street of the village, where the village notables once lived. The harbors for the supply and discharge of goods were of great importance to the villages on Goeree-Overflakkee. Dirksland used to have a harbor directly on the water, but due to various land reclamations, the harbor had to be continually extended. As a result, Dirksland now boasts a harbor no less than 5.5 kilometers long. A lock, the Sas van Dirksland, was built at the end of the harbor in 1790. In 1970, the harbor was closed as part of the Delta Works. The Dirksland lock has since been completely renovated. When driving past Dirksland on the N215, the Dirksland water tower is particularly striking. It has long been out of use.

The garden was frozen over with the exception of the waterfall that flows continually... waiting for the koi to wake up!!
