This image is part of my photographic series Almodis, Countess of Montferrand, which I invite you to discover in the list of my albums.
By consulting the photos in chronological order, and paying attention to their titles, you can follow the story of Almodis's life as Countess of Montferrand - according to the freedom of my novelistic interpretation, the first known chatelaine of the fortress so named.
In 1085, Count Pierre de Melgueil paid homage to the Pope and began the bipolarisation of the county of Substantion, which became the county of Melgueil and Montferrand. Construction of the castle of Montferrand began at the same time. The Count did not survive the completion of the project, and probably died as early as 1086. His widow, Almodis, inherited the castle and administered the county for the rest of her life.
Many thanks to the model for the double session (and the two walks...), which were necessary to obtain the different phases of the narrative. Thanks also to Suzanne for the loan of the '1085' dress.

Whilamut Passage Bridge (2011 & 2013), official name for the Willamette River Interstate-5 Bridges, a pair of new deck arch concrete bridges spanning the Willamette River at Eugene in Lane County, Oregon. The name honors the area’s native population. Construction began in 2009; the west span was completed in 2011, and the east span was completed and opened in August 2013. They carry Interstate-5 traffic and replaced an earlier bridge completed in 1961. Contractors: Hamilton Construction Company / Slayden Construction. Lead Engineers: OBEC Consulting Engineers / TY Lin International. Owner: Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). The Knickerbocker Bicycle Bridge (1980) is visible in background.

A lady participating, was kind enough to explain to me, though I may have garbled some details:
To the left of the picture is what she called a stick, that is rattled after you pose a question, and this then tells you which drawer to take your answer from. The lady on the right is just getting hers.
After reading the answer, the answer is either tied to a wire frame (picture here) or burned (picture here).
