The backside of the Zuiderkerk (Southern Church) surrounded by scaffoldings and green nettings for reconstruction of cleaning work. This is indeed the same building as 'Fragile tower'. But now taken from the street just behind the church.
I also like the effect of the slightly visible surface of the green gauze on the right side of the building. That gave me in some way the thought it is only 2D instead of 3D like a huge background fabric for a play. But maybe that's just me... :-)
Left overs from a construction job? Waiting for use somewhere? I dunno. I just thought this stack looked kind of cool.
Found while roaming around near the railyard in Milpitas, California.
Old pieces of hardware found in an empty barn late one fall afternoon. (An aside: the golden hour sunlight enhanced the color of the rust and left shadows that added to the linear elements of the composition.)
The end of an August day near the top entrance to Machu Picchu from the Inca Trail. A restored building with terracing and stonework architecture.
The 1,140-seat Dixon Theatre was opened in 1922 and built on the site of the old Dixon Opera House, which was destroyed by a fire in 1920. Movies lasted for six decades at the Dixon Theatre, but it, like many others, fell into disrepair and by the end of the 1980’s was shuttered.
Fortunately, the theatre has now been restored and reopened as a concert venue and community center and is also used by the local theatre guild. The Dixon Theatre is home to a Barton 3 manual 12 rank theatre pipe organ, which is used for concerts and to accompany silent films.
Workers supervise concrete being poured for a pedestrian island being constructed in the middle of a busy street. A composition in orange.
A found piece of sculpture located in a construction site, part of the reconstruction of a small rail-trail bridge over a local highway. I like the wide-angle perspective here.

Where the Internet may well seep into the sand sometimes...
A bustling narrow street in Mumbai, India. In the foreground, two men are transporting long bamboo poles on a hand-pulled cart. One man wearing a patterned shirt is pulling the cart from the front, while another in a light-colored t-shirt assists from behind. The street is lined with weathered multi-story residential buildings with small balconies and ground-floor shops. Overhead electrical wires crisscross the space above. Blue tarps are visible covering parts of some structures. In the background, there are parked motorcycles, a white plastic chair, and other pedestrians going about their daily activities. The image captures the authentic rhythm of everyday labor and commerce in Mumbai's urban landscape.
Workers guide horses carrying gravel collected from a nearby riverbed. Photo taken on February 26, 2008 near Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Stairs that widen up towards the top, fooling the eye on length and steepness of ascension / descension.

On the westbound run the camp unloaded a group of propane water heaters, and disembarked the ukeleles by mistake. The ukeleses re-embarked before the music teacher noticed. On the Eastbound run a load of wood siding, cement blocks and bags of cement were unloaded. Life on a Canadian backwoods railway passengers service.
