I'd like to think so, even though it's hard sometimes.
Anyways, found this awesome consignment shop a few years ago. Little hole in the wall palce called "This n That". I've found lots of treasures in there. Well, when I moved with my mom and step-dad just before Thanksgiving, it ended up being literally right down the street from the shop!! Wooh!
I stopped in today after work just to take a peek (really looking for props, haha), and ended up finding this super cute sweater (for $1.25!! Hey!!) and a really cute jacket/blazer thing for a couple bucks.
Little things like that brighten my day. Had a pretty awesome day at work too!! Then took Fender for a nice walk/jog/run/fetch session just as the sun was setting too. It was really nice.

The little consignment store near me had many 8 x 10 photos of this woman. I've done a Google photo search with no luck. One of the other photos had her in the green room at a San Francisco television station. Sadly, none of the photos have her name written on them. Russell Glen pointed out to me that it's Georgia Gibbs. She had many albums, singing pop, ballads, jazz, swing, and rhythm/blues covers. She was born in 1919 and died in 2006 of leukemia.
I found this online: "Romaine" refers to the professional studio of Karl and Emilie Romaine, a photography duo who ran a well-known studio in San Francisco from the 1930s to the 1980s. They specialized in photographing performers, especially dancers and actors, and their work is recognizable by the "Romaine" stamp on the back of many of their photos.
About the Romaine Studio
Founding: Karl and Emilie Romaine started their studio after a career in Vaudeville ended with the stock market crash of 1929.
Location: Initially working from their home, they eventually opened a studio at the Hotel Governor, a popular hotel for traveling performers.
Specialization: They became renowned for their work with dancers, actors, and other stage performers, capturing both publicity and portrait shots.
Longevity: The studio operated for decades, with Karl remaining active until his death in 2004.
Legacy: Their work continues to be collected and sold today, with many examples of their performer photography available on sites like eBay and Etsy.

Wildest Dreams, consignment and antiques
This is the kind-of out-of-the-way place where you might find something (at a reasonable price). Stuff that hasn’t been picked over countless times by the major metropolis’ hoards. Bakersfield itself was a bit of a surprise as I expected a gritty working class city but found a tidy downtown that was attempting it own kind of revamped trendiness.
Wildest Dreams is three floors chock-a-block with everything. And I mean everything, including my prey (45 rpms). In the back I found a box of US$1 45s (pictured here), but at the check-out counter there were two 45rpm boxes of serious collector items ranging from US$7 to US$20. I stuck with the bargains and bought two 45s that turned out to be not-so-great.
These were most definitely commercial attempts by two old hands – Little Milton coming from a Blues/R&B legacy but going for a Disco crossover on a subsidiary of the Florida TK Disco label and Jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal, on a Chess Records subsidiary label, going for an Elevator/Samba groove backed by 5th Dimension type vocals. Oh well, they were only a dollar!
Wildest Dreams is still highly recommended.

While visiting Auburn, Indiana with my brother Doug on September 4 and 5, 2015 during the ACD Festival, we had lunch and twice had ice cream at the Cranberry Cottage Cafe. Unfortunately a large consignment of Chinese car tyres had been imported and stocked within the former flour mill at Trowell a short while before it was almost completely consumed by flames.
It had been in use as a furniture warehouse and showroom but had not , so I am informed, been additionally insured against the tyres storage risk .
On 28th February 2013 flickr user Six Two Four mailed , "I was there on the night this burnt down. Wanted to have a close look but the police spotted us and stopped us. Was awful to see."
