Breakout Session: Connectivity
Technology is one of the defining forces of our collective future, reshaping the way we learn, innovate, and connect with one another. Today, new digital technologies and advancements—such as the Internet of Things, smart devices, artificial intelligence, and the block chain—are increasingly changing the concept of connectivity itself and enhancing our ability to maximize human potential. The strategies we design and the investments we make will impact how equitably access to these innovations is shared—and how drastically livelihoods will be improved as a result.
How can we bridge the digital divide of today and harness the potential of connectivity to impact our societies, environment, and economies of tomorrow?

Friends, due to connectivity problems I could not reach and share on this beautiful platform...

Just missed you all so much !!!
I was checking Reina's (was Brian's wife) fluid levels for her van this evening when I found this dried out Dragonfly on top of the engine. I carefully removed it from under some cables and went immediately home with it and returned to finish helping Reina... she knew that I would use it for a photo prop.
Voila!

In almost every part of the world, the Dragonfly symbolizes change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realization.
The change that is often referred to has its source in mental and emotional maturity and understanding the deeper meaning of life. The Dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life. The Dragonfly moves with elegance and grace. The Dragonfly is iridescent both on its wings and body. Iridescence shows itself in different colors depending on the angle and how the light falls on it. The magical property of iridescence is also associated with the discovery of one’s own abilities by unmasking the real self and removing the doubts one casts on his/her own sense of identity.
The Dragonfly normally lives most of its life as a nymph or an immature. It flies only for a fraction of its life. This symbolizes and exemplifies the virtue of living in the moment and living life to the fullest. By living in the moment you are aware of who you are, where you are, what you are doing, what you want, what you don’t, and to make informed choices on a moment-to-moment basis. The eyes of the Dragonfly symbolize the uninhibited vision of the mind and the ability to see beyond the limitations of the human self. Dragonfly’s can be a symbol of self that comes with maturity. They can symbolize going past self-created illusions that limit our growth and ability to change.
The Dragonfly has been a symbol of happiness, new beginnings and change for many centuries. The Dragonfly means hope, change, and love.
I have not taken photos for a few month now. There is a struggle inside to connect back to nature, to connect to beauty, to connect to sunrises and sunsets and connect to freshness of the land. One of the reasons for not connecting back is the search for uniqueness, "What can I do that no one has done before?", "What should I look for that has to been seen via a new angle?". I have promised myself that I am going to connect back, but only if it brings uniqueness to my photography, my experience of the place and my audience.
Sharing of my photos is encouraged, please feel free to share with family and friends on Facebook. Please do not use the image without permission.

Just kickin' back enjoying a nice, humid evening @ poolside w/ my first fast connection since leaving Japan.
Life is good. Hanging out w/ ex-Wazzu pals, meeting up w/ some of my KL Flickr hoomans and getting ready to meet up w/ some of my Singapore hoomans soon.
Not excited to get back to work. Or Japan for that matter, actually. Malaysia feels more like the US than Japan does in some ways.
Don't miss Utsu. Miss my Tokyo hoomans, tho'. Hope ev'one there's doing well. As soon as I get back, I need to start planning my next 'kkaido visit next month.
In other news, I broke one of the two lenses I have with me. The M/MF slide gadget went kaplooey on me while I was shooting @ the Batu Caves on Sunday. Pfftp. Still works, thankfully. Just not in super top shape. If it ain't one thing... it's another making me want to spend monays on a new lens :P And I do *not* need new reasons to do that.
For what it's worth, I'm actually kind of glad I forgot my other lenses back home. I've taken a metric buttload of shots and I'm pretty sure most of them suck badly. Moreso than usual, I think. Just in a different mode here, I guess. Not sure what's up. Being here's definitely made me think about a lot of different things and photography seems to be low on that list.

Octeract Hasse diagram of all 256 ternary Boolean connectives.
The connectives represented by the light red vertices have an odd binary digit sum,
all of them belong to the first two cubes in the list below. All connectives are linked from these 8 cubes, which are probably the vertices of a bigger cube.

Art Collector: Charles Saatchi ( Arabic: تشارلز ساعتجي; born 9 June 1943) is an Iraqi-British businessman and the co-founder with his brother Maurice of advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi. The brothers led the business – the world's largest advertising agency in the 1980s – until they were forced out in 1995. In the same year, the brothers formed a new agency called M&C Saatchi.
Saatchi is also known for his art collection and for owning Saatchi Gallery, and in particular for his sponsorship of the Young British Artists (YBAs), including Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.
Charles Saatchi is Jewish, born in Baghdad, Iraq, the second of four sons, to the wealthy family of Nathan Saatchi and Daisy Ezer. The name "Saatchi" ساعتچی (sā'ātchi), which means "watchmaker", originates from a Turkish name from Iran. This name has a long history in Iran and its bearers are mostly Jewish. Saatchi's brothers are David (born 1937), Maurice (born 1946) and Philip (born 1953).
In 1947 his father, a textile merchant, anticipated the flight that tens of thousands of Iraqi Jews would soon make it difficult to avoid persecution and relocated his family to Finchley, north London. Nathan Saatchi purchased two textile mills in north London and after a time rebuilt a thriving business. Eventually the family would settle into an eight-bedroom house in Hampstead Lane, Highgate.
Saatchi attended Christ's College, a grammar school in Finchley, north London.During this time, he developed an obsession with US pop culture, including the music of Elvis Presley, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. He has described as "life-changing" the experience of viewing a Jackson Pollock painting at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He then progressed to study at the London College of Communication.
In 1965, Saatchi undertook his first advertising role as a copywriter in the London office of Benton & Bowles, where he met Doris Lockhart (later his first wife). Saatchi paired up with art director Ross Cramer and they worked as a team at Collett Dickenson Pearce and John Collins & Partners before leaving in 1967 to open creative consultancy Cramer Saatchi.
Unusually for a creative consultancy, they took on employees: John Hegarty – previously Saatchi's art director at Benton & Bowles, who would later go on to run rival agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty – and Jeremy Sinclair, who as of 2016 still retains a senior role at M&C Saatchi. In addition to offering consulting with ad agencies they also took on some clients directly.
Saatchi and Saatchi
In 1970, he started the advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi with his brother Maurice, which by 1986 – following its acquisition of advertising firm Ted Bates – had grown to be the largest ad agency in the world, with over 600 offices. Successful campaigns in the UK included Silk Cut's advertisements in preparation for the ban on named tobacco advertising, and the Conservative Party's 1979 general election victory – led by Margaret Thatcher through the slogan "Labour Isn't Working"
M&C Saatchi
At the turn of 1995, Saatchi and his brother left the agency, and together founded the rival M&C Saatchi agency, taking with them many of their management and creative staff, as well as a number of clients – including British Airways.
