Daylight Saving Time has begun in the United States of America last night at 2 am. Ye lucky basterds! We in Europe have to wait until March 26 because our clocks are set forward an hour on every last Sunday in March. The winter trees are throwing confetti in celebration of the coming spring (March 20) and the countries that can now enjoy an added hour of light.
Macro Mondays - Dots and Stripes
Colourful confetti on black and white gift wrap paper refracted in some waterdrops on a sheet of plexiglas above. I tried glas before, the water drops just turned into flat puddles, no use. Didn't think, it would make such a difference.
Persicaria capitata (Pink-headed persicaria, ’Hime-tsurusoba’ in Japanese) is a perennial flowering plant in the buckwheat family, native to central and eastern Asia. It is a creeping herb producing small pink clusters of flowers that look like ’Komepeito’, Japanese popular confetti. In autumn and winter, the leaves also get reddish. Taken by the roadside.

I really, truly, honestly wasn't going to post any more heart pics after Valentine's, but the Macro Mondays theme for this week spoilt it for me, so you'll have to bear with me for just one more day :P
I went to a knick knacks store to get some stuff for my kids last week and among all the mugs and cushions and other love themed paraphernalia they were selling for Valentine's Day, I found "Valentine's confetti" with hearts and cupids and love messages printed all over it!!! So I bought some and got straight to work for the hearts theme (as if I hadn't taken enough heart shots already, lol) And here it is, dear friends :)))
So, with the last heart for this year, I bid you all a wonderful new week and HMM ♡

On our few days away in the Cotswolds we were recommended to go to the Confetti Fields at Wick, nr Pershore, Worcestershire. What an amazing sight. Acres of delphiniums in all different shades and at one end of the field an exact replica of the Union Jack. The fields are only open for 10 days and then the flowers are handpicked for confetti for weddings.
Not wanting to be outdone by a mere house sparrow, this Lesser Golfinch decides to create her own confetti.
