NASA conducted its second RS-25 engine hot fire test of the new year Feb. 8 on the Fred Haise Test Stand at Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The test was the third hot fire in the latest test series that began in mid-December. NASA is testing RS-25 engines to help power the agency's Space Launch System (SLS) rocket on future deep-space missions. Four RS-25 engines will generate a combined 2 million pounds of thrust to power SLS’s ascent.

Whilst conducting Cold Weather Amphibious Warfare Training within the beautiful Fjords of Northern Norway, 150 miles north of the Arctic Circle, HMS Ocean's embarked photographer was able to capture this stunning image of the Northern Lights shimmering above the Helicopter Carrier's Flight Deck.
HMS Ocean is the Royal Navy's largest warship and was operating in the region in December 2009 as part of the UK's Amphibious Task Group, conducting Exercise Cold Response; a multinational exercise conducted alongside the Norwegian Armed Forces.

In the summer of 1988 we conducted a fighter drag from California to Hawaii. The fighter drag entailed our crew from the 4017th Combat Crew Training Squadron (CCTS) at Castle Air Force Base, California, escorting and refueling A-7 Corsair II's from VAQ-33, nicknamed the Firebirds, a Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron of the US Navy.
VAQ-33 was stationed at Key West. They utilized modified A-7 Corsair II aircraft (often mentioned as TA-7C/EA-7L variants) for adversary training. The A-7 was part of the diverse, ever-evolving fleet operated by the Firebirds while based at NAS Key West between 1980 and 1993.
We used a method of refueling called Probe and Drogue refueling, which uses a flexible hose trailing from a tanker, ending in a parachute-stabilized basket (drogue - which resembles the birdie from badminton.) The receiver aircraft, typically Navy or Marine, uses a probe to connect with this basket. It is favored for its simplicity, allowing for multiple, simultaneous "buddy" refuelings.
Generally, it supports a lower fuel transfer rate (approx. 2,000 lbs/min) compared to the flying boom system (approx. 6,000 lbs/min).
While efficient, it is technically challenging and can cause damage to the refueling assembly or receiver probe if not properly executed. It's not a favorite of Navy pilots when attached to a KC-135. Its nickname is the Iron Maiden.That system has been known to rip probes off more than one receiver aircraft. The hose from the end of the boom nozzle to the drogue is 6’ long and you have to drive the drogue forward enough that you introduce that curve in it so fuel starts to flow. At 420 knots, at night, or in turbulence it can be a difficult procedure.
The UH-72A LAKOTA Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) will conduct general support utility helicopter missions and execute tasks as part of an integrated effort with other Joint Services, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations. The LUH is to be deployed only to non-combat, non-hostile environments. It provides a flexible response to Homeland Security requirements such as search and rescue operations, reconnaissance and surveillance, and medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) missions.
The UH-72A is a twin-engine, single-main-rotor commercial helicopter. It has seating for two pilots and up to six passengers or two NATO standard litters (stretchers) along with passenger seating for a medical attendant and a crew chief. Two Turbomeca Arriel 1E2 engines, combined with an advanced four-blade rotor system, provide lift and speed in a wide range of operating conditions.
It is also equipped with modern communication and navigation avionics. It includes a 3-axis autopilot and single pilot Instrument Flight Rules capability. The cockpit is compatible with night vision devices. In addition to the MEDEVAC configuration, the UH-72A is also being fielded in a VIP, ARNG Security & Support (S&S) and Combined Training Center (CTC) configurations.

Gannets conduct a distinctive mating display. The two birds bow, point their heads skywards and preen each other. They usually form lifelong pairs and begin breeding at four or five years of age.
These girls have just tested their electrically conducting bridge structure at Chip Camp. The point of this exercise is to create the longest possible span using popsicle sticks, straws, and tape and then cover the surface with aluminum foil.

This week in 1960, NASA conducted the first of two tests of the first stage engines of the Saturn I rocket. The first test, SA-T, lasted approximately eight seconds. The Saturn I booster stage was powered by eight H-1 engines, which were capable of producing a combined 1.5 million pounds of thrust. Here, a Saturn I booster stage equipped with eight H-1 engines is successfully test-fired at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in February 1961. Today, Marshall is playing a vital role in the Artemis Program by developing the Space Launch System, the backbone of NASA’s exploration plans and the only rocket capable of sending humans to the Moon and Mars. The NASA History Program is responsible for generating, disseminating and preserving NASA’s remarkable history and providing a comprehensive understanding of the institutional, cultural, social, political, economic, technological and scientific aspects of NASA’s activities in aeronautics and space. More than 100 men of the parish were soon organized to conduct a parish-wide appeal for the building of the new church. The New Church Appeal set a goal of $140,000.00, encouraging parishioners to “give not your mite, but your mightiest,” for a church that would accommodate 1,000 worshipers. Robert V. Huff was General Chairman; Joseph W. Higgins was Vice-Chairman and Gerald J. Emry was Advance Gift Chairman with Paul D. Wells and Frank Goodman, Sr. serving as Advisory Committeemen. September 18, 1960 was the occasion of formal groundbreaking for the new church. City and county officials, as well as many parishioners, were in attendance. The Appeal had exceeded the goal by more than $25,000.
One of the special features of the new church is the 80-foot bell tower. The tower is topped with a 12-foot high stone cross. The bell itself, named Barbara for Father Anderson’s mother, rings automatically every day at 12 pm and 6 pm. to remind people to say the Angelus. Bishop Hurley sprinkled “Barbara” which was cast in Germany, with holy water before she was lifted into the tower.
When the church was completed in 1961, Father Anderson said much of the beauty of the church could be credited to Gerald Emry, contractor and son of Mr. and Mrs. C.O. Emry, early pioneers in the church. Mary Louise Shriver describes the church: “The exterior is pinkish-buff Tennessee brick with cast stone trim… A statue of St. Joseph is place above the main entrance, which also has a stained glass window ten feet in diameter. A terrazzo floor in the interior is enhanced by a marble wainscot and base.
The three altars are light marble.”
Monsignor Patrick J. Nolan, who had served the parish from 1928 to 1934 and was now working in the Chancery, blessed
the church.
By this time, Lyceum Hall was no longer usable, so the old church became the church hall.
The old church was eventually named Fr. Anderson Hall after he was assigned to Haines City to Transfiguration Church, which is now St. Ann Church. When he retired in 1978, he retired in Lake Alfred and continued to say Mass at both St. Joseph and St. Ann whenever he was needed until
he died in 1994.
Bishop Norbert M. Dorsey, Bishop of the Orlando
Diocese, was the main celebrant at the mass of Christian Burial. Father Anderson had been ordained in Hartford, Connecticut and was buried in Assumption Cemetery in Westport Connecticut.

Sabe quando você passa o pincel na unha pela primeira vez e já descobre que não pode mais viver sem aquele esmalte? Então.... Foi exatamente essa a sensação que eu tive ao aplicar o Miss Conduct.
Ele é sensacional, fabuloso, chegaay no último gray de chegayzísse....
Lógico que eu fiquei curiosa pra comparar com o DS Extravagance (que tb é outro amor incondicional) e aí passei no anelar pra ver... Adorei e deixei como filha única nas duas mãos kkk...
Mas dá pra ver bem nítida a diferença entre os dois. Digo na cor, pois no acabamento são iguais. Talvez o MC tenha um pouco mais dessas partículas holográficas, sabem? Exatamente, eu não sei o que é, mas que o treco faz tooooda a diferença nos esmaltes, aaaa isso faz...
Enfim... só ao vivo mesmo pra vcs entenderem...

NASA conducted the 10th certification test of an RS-25 engine June 8, continuing a critical hot fire series to facilitate production of new engines for future SLS (Space Launch System) missions to deep space. Operators on the Fred Haise Test Stand at NASA’s Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, fired the RS-25 certification engine for more than 8 minutes (500 seconds), the same amount of time the engines must fire to help launch NASA’s SLS rocket on Artemis missions to the Moon in preparation for future journeys to Mars. The engine also fired as high as 113% power during the test, exceeding the 111% power level needed during launch and providing a margin of operational performance safety. NASA plans two additional tests to certify production of new RS-25 engines by lead contractor Aerojet Rocketdyne. Four RS-25 engines fire simultaneously to help launch each SLS rocket, producing up to 2 million pounds of combined thrust.

This will further increase the capability of this proven battlefield helicopter.

I spent a few days in Kompong Chhnang spending some time riding rowing barks through the floating villages, walking in the water around house of stilts and admiring the countryside. Many women work has a rowing boat driver to conduct people to their house. Most of them are from the vietnamese comunity, recognisable by the conical hat.

Passando a foto da EC na frente da última do Ostentassaum Novidadeira, por motivos de... não acho as fotos do esmalte do desafio em lugar nenhum, já procurei em tudo que é pasta no PC e simplesmente sumiram... afff
Choradeiras à parte, a EC do mês de Outubro foi alterada na última hora quando lembraram que esse mês tem a Campanha do Outubro Rosa!
Quem tem ou teve alguém próximo, que passou ou está passando por tratamento de CM sabe o quanto é difícil, e o objetivo da campanha é nos alertar o quanto é importante o diagnóstico precoce da doença, então meninas vamos fazer a nossa parte, façam o auto-exame, a partir dos 40 anos ou quando seu médico(a) pedir façam a mamografia, vamos nos cuidar!
E pras amigas que estão com suas mães em tratamento, força que a vitória virá <3<3<3
Quanto ao esmalte, foi emprestado pela Su, linda depois que fiquei chorocando no grupo que não tinha esmalte rosa!
O esmalte é lindo, é Divo, mas a questão é que eu não gosto mesmo desses tons em mim, mas ele fica maravilhoso em mãozinhas alheias!

This six-week initiative, called Operation Violence Reduction12 (Operation VR12), resulted in the arrest of more than 8,075 gang members, sex offenders and other violent criminals.
While Operation VR12 was conducted nationwide in all 94 federal judicial districts, U.S. Marshals focused special attention on 12 selected locations, designated as priority cities by the U.S. Department of Justice: Baltimore; Brooklyn, New York; Camden, New Jersey; Chicago, Illinois; Compton, California; Fresno, California; Gary, Indiana; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; New Orleans; Oakland, California; Savannah, Georgia; and Washington, D.C.
In order to have the greatest impact on violent crime, Operation VR12 focused on fugitives who had three or more prior felony arrests for crimes such as murder, attempted murder, robbery, aggravated assault, arson, abduction/kidnapping, weapon offenses, sexual assault, child molestation and narcotics. Operation VR12 investigators increased their focus on fugitives accused of sex crimes and on the recovery of missing children.
Between February 1 and March 11, the U.S. Marshals Service used its multi-jurisdictional investigative authority and fugitive task force network to arrest 648 gang members and others wanted on charges including 559 for homicide; and 946 for sexual offenses. In addition, investigators seized 463 firearms, $390,360 in currency, and more than 71 kilograms of illegal narcotics. Also during the operation, investigators recovered 17 children who had been abducted and reported missing.

PACIFIC OCEAN (July 11, 2022) A Landing craft, air cushion (LCAC), assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, conducts amphibious operations with Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022. Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, four submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. A very apt name for this awesome tractor at the Scoot Mason Tractor Pull held at Biddeston, Queensland.
But I managed to conduct myself with a modicum of dignity while shopping. I’m S L O W L Y getting the hang of hair care and hoping my styling appointment this month will create some “look” I can live with. The close up was the last of the day (checking I’m not too swollen for a previous worn outfit), but it gives a glimpse as to what I’m working towards, a soft, (obvious feminine) sweep. I’ve more than enough “body” but less “coverage” than I prefer. Not sure I want bangs, but have to keep it age appropriate (without the purple wash, thank you). I’ve managed to get slight control over my weight- the wrinkles are a lost cause. Love love love❤️
