Avec son cou et ses pattes tendus cette grande aigrette me rappelle notre avion supersonique " concorde ".
The supersonic British/French Concorde. It cruised at Mach 2, 1170 mph, with a maximum altitude of 60,000ft. The first passenger flights were in 1976 and for 27 years it flew between Europe and USA in less than 3 1/2 hours. In contrast to its elegant and timeless outer form, its cramped, analogue flight deck shows its age terribly.

No - not the nose-cone of Concorde, ready to taxi down the runway. But a closed fan made of bamboo. ;o)
For the Macro Mondays challenge "Made of Wood" ( July 29th 2019)
I don't know why but the song "Bad Moon Rising" kept running through my head. The big bokeh looks like a moon. If you like the track as much as I do Creedence Clearwater Revival are singing it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUQiUFZ5RDw
There's a shot of the fan in the first comment field, along with the the size-guide I use for MM.
HMM to everyone, and have a great week ;o)

Today saw the first flight of Concorde for many a year - if you believe Flightradar24 that is !!
After showing a " Live " tracking of Concorde flying from Paris to JFK New York it was repeated with a flight from London Heathrow to JFK using the Concrde G-BOAG which is now housed in a museum of flight in Seattle !!
I picked up on this as it was tracked over Nova Scotia as it head for JFK where it landed at 2:30 pm after leaving at 11:00 am . Flightradar24 did this so well it apparently crashed at some point - at the point I saw this there were around 45,000 people tracking the flight , so no wonder !!
I really missed the moment and did not take a shot of the screen or even take a screen shot !! Therefore here is a shot of a Concorde in the local travel agents window !!
Why one asks - well it is April the First !!

Concorde G-BBDG, also known as "Delta Golf," is located at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey, England.
G-BBDG was the first British production Concorde (construction number 202), crucial for the certification of the entire Concorde fleet for airline service, although it was never used commercially for passenger flights. However this aircraft played a crucial role in the aircraft's development and certification, including being the first aircraft to carry 100 passengers at Mach 2 (twice the speed of sound) during testing.
After its final flight in 1981 and subsequent use by British Airways for spare parts, G-BBDG was transported to Brooklands Museum in sections in 2004 and underwent a two-year restoration project before being opened to the public in 2006 as part of "The Concorde Experience".
Brooklands Museum is Located on the historic site of the world's first purpose-built motor racing circuit and a significant aviation manufacturing centre. The museum showcases British motorsport and aviation heritage.

The Place de la Concorde is one of the major public squares in Paris, France. Measuring 7.6 ha (19 acres) in area, it is the largest square in the French capital. It is located in the city's eighth arrondissement, at the eastern end of the Champs-ĆlysĆ©es.
It was the site of many notable public executions, including the executions of King Louis XVI, Marie Antoinette and Maximilien Robespierre in the course of the French Revolution, during which the square was temporarily renamed Place de la RƩvolution.
The centrepiece of the place is an ancient Egyptian obelisk decorated with hieroglyphics exalting the reign of the pharaoh Ramesses II. It is one of two which the Egyptian government gave to the French in the 19th century. The other one stayed in Egypt, too difficult and heavy to move to France with the technology at that time. On 26 September 1981, President FranƧois Mitterrand formally returned the title of the second obelisk to Egypt. The obelisk once marked the entrance to the Luxor Temple.
Proposed redesign for 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
In January 2021, Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, announced that the city would undertake an ambitious ā¬250 million redesign of the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-ĆlysĆ©es. Work on the Place de la Concorde will be the first to be undertaken in advance of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The redesign is intended to increase pedestrian space, reduce car traffic, and add more trees for improved air quality along the Champs-ĆlysĆ©es. Traffic will be directed around the outside edges of the Place. The number of traffic lanes will be greatly reduced. Four large areas of trees and greenery will be created in the corners of the square around the obelisk and monuments and open space in the center. A walkway will connect over 200 acres of green space between the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-ĆlysĆ©es, the Place de la Concorde, and the Tuileries Gardens.
