Ullswater Tree Stump, Lake District - 54°33'13.049" N 2°56'54.258" W
After a day full of concalls whilst working from home, seeing all the snow falling and others out and about capturing some lovely images I thought I would take the opportunity to head out myself while there was some light still around. This of course is always helped by the fact the landscape is covered in the white stuff. So, after Percy Pup getting in the car I threw the wife in and off we went to Ullswater. I decided to shoot the old tree stump as I have yet to see this image taken in the snow. Here it is, let me know what you think.

A Saturday Morning Thought:
movies coconut flat whites and a new Raymond's haunt,
accessible saloons and restaurants to hang out in,
a place to read in the sun,
and endless people to meet-share my day and be alone with,
an elevator to my new queen size dream factory where I'm not the host,
And a shower to roll into with a roof to talk with the Buddha....

These two were just eggs when we left for our trip several weeks ago but last week, I almost stepped on 'em when I was walking around outside while on one of my daily concalls. Today is the first time in the last 10 days that I couldn't find either of 'em. I think that they finally decided that they were strong enough fliers to leave the safety of my yard and find a new place to hang out.
As you can see, their feathers are still coming in in these pics. I've got some more recent captures that I'll post tomorrow that shows what they looked like the day before yesterday.
I've got this stand of swamp milkweed at the edge of the water in my backyard that has always been a great attractor of swallowtails in the past. This year, though, they've been incredibly scarce to the point of me getting no photos at all this year. Today, while having my group concall I sat out on the back deck and noticed this bug come flying in. It's far from a perfect specimen but it's a start.
