I know that I posted a setup photo just 13 days ago but we cleaned up the home office yesterday so I had to capture this rare moment. This is were I spend most of my free time.
I'm so into fake vintage look that it's embarrasing. It's like I'm 19 again with my very first Photoshop Elements software that I got bundled with my first own computer (PC laptop) back in 2003.
The same photo without the retro touch here.
Taken with Nikon D80 and Nikon Series E 28mm f/2.8 lens (@ f/4), hand-held, only available light from the window on the right.
"Setup v4.0"
The same photo which I posted as photo #59 of my Project 365 without the retro tweak.

A closer view of what sits on my desk in our office... Too see a wider angle view and more stuff Click Here, the description on the other photo also goes into much more detail about what I use and how I use it.
In short, about 5 years ago I uploaded a photo (now quite outdated) of what my desk looked like and the computing technology that I used... but now long overdue I have upgraded and replaced quite a bit. Things are now much simpler and easier to use... oh and I finally made the switch to Mac and have been loving life on OS-X.
What this photo shows is:
A 30" NEC monitor connected to an Apple Hex Core 3.33Ghz. Mac Pro w/12GB of RAM, dual 50GB OWC Solid State Drives(SSD), four 2TB Western Digital Black hard drives and a NewerTech eSATA card and two external 500GB Western Digital Studio Edition hard drives. The desktop has an Apple Wireless Keyboard, a Magic Trackpad and a Magic Mouse connected via Bluetooth and a Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard and a Microsoft LaserMouse6000 connected via USB2 sitting on a HumanScale 4G keyboard tray (it's designed for the Microsoft 'natural' form factor). Finally the Mac Pro has a Wacom Intuos3 tablet and a set of Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers.
Laptop - An Apple 15" MacBookPro Core i5 2.4Ghz. notebook with 8GB of RAM and a 500GB Seagate MomentusXT hard drive (which also includes a 4GB SSD cache), with the upgraded high res. display. Attached is a 500GB G-Tech G-Drive Mini and a 1TB OWC Mercury Elite-AL Pro external drives connected via Firewire800 and an Apple MagicMouse via Bluetooth.
There is more going on in terms of networking, storage, etc. but if you want to know more about that, click on this other image.

My current computer setup.
Mac: 15" Macbook Pro i5 2.53GHZ, 4GB DDR3 ram, 750GB 720RPM HDD.
Accessories:
Monitor: Dell U2410 IPS monitor for photo editing
Keyboard: Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech MX Revolution
Remote: Apple Remote
Phone: Motorola Atrix
Taken with Sony A55 with a Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens.
I also have plans to soon build a super fast photo editing/photo storage/media server/gaming computer. I'll post pics once I build it.
Yay -- it's finally done... my dream desk! :)
Oh, and yes; the keyboard tray slides in and out of the middle. This shot isn't quite fully deployed -- it'll go about 6" further out. In the recessed position it sits about 2" back from the front plane of the desk.
I'd considered putting some sort of linear bearing to assist the keyboard tray sliding action, but I tried simply routing a channel on either side that fits into the extrusion channel. This amount of play and friction turned out to be just perfect, so it's all done.
This is a shot of what you'd most likely see during my work hours, when I'm doing things with graphics and whatnot. I would also have Reddit open and wasting my time, but I chose to exclude that from the shot.
You can see here how much space there is between the desk and the bottom of the monitor setup.
Also, I've added aluminum channeled slatwall to either side of the desk for future expansion -- I can just add brackets and shelves to the sides if I ever want or need to. For now, they just look really cool.
This shows just about the whole room. Now you can see my TV and my Left 4 Dead posters. I use that TV for... Movies and TV shows obviously, and it's great when I have company. This isn't just my work area, it's my fun/entertainment area. Good thing it's large.
There isn't much behind the camera's view, just a bunch of good seating for the TV and a table to put things like my wallet & car keys on.
My little but high-octane office in my loft. Had a 17-35mm f2.8 Nikon lens on loan so I snapped a couple of pictures before I had to return it.
The desk is an 80/20 project that I recently completed this spring. This is a big desk made from aluminum extrusions and furniture grade maple plywood. Each pedestal of the desk is a full 19" rackmount for Middle Atlantic shelves, drawers and accessories, in addition to an AC power Center and rackmount server case. The left pedestal houses an NHT 12-inch powered sub (the controller is in the top right drawer, and there are two Acurus home theater amplifiers for the surround system. One of the design constraints of the desk was that it had to accommodate three 24" monitors and the NHT 1.5's that flanked them. This amount of real estate made for a very large keyboard tray with tons of mouse pad room, which was a huge upgrade from my old setup. All in all I think that it turned out pretty well -- mid-project I thought that it was going to be really heinous looking (esp because I was going to use a very dark grey/black flecked Corian for the desk surfaces, like a kitchen countertop), but since I decided to use the lighter wood, it turned out much better looking than I anticipated.
I'm currently in the process of putting together a new desktop PC rig to run this. I'm trying to figure out if I want to try to squeeze a water cooling kit into the horizontal 4U server rack, or just grab one of the HP Blackbird cases. One of the new ATi cards that will run a triple head setup like this is a MUST however.

I made a desk out of a couple of sawhorses and an untreated door from Lowe's. Probably cost more than finding something on Craigslist, but I get to draw all over this one.
Bought a new Dell IPS monitor to go with my old faithful Hyundai L90D+
Just a more direct view of my computer setup. I can't live without the dual 28" monitors, going single monitor scares me.
I spend the majority of my time in that seat, in front of those (28") monitors. This is where I do all my graphic/web design, and where I play all my games, and of course, the internet.
Just a dramatic, close up view of my main desk, I always keep it clear and organized, or I can't concentrate on work, hence the wireless keyboard/mouse.
Dual 23" Monitors + one 21.5" Monitor.
Running on a Core i7 950 w/ 24GB of ram.
Windows 7 Desktop powered by VMWare Workstation on top of Ubuntu 10.04.

Today I stiched a panorama for the first time. I used Photoshop CS5's automated Photomerge feature and fine tuned the photo by hand. The panorama is made of 12 photos that were taken with Tokina 12-24mm f/4 lens with focal length of 12mm.
Project 365 blog: Roll A Week // 365
The triplehead monitor setup was built first, since it didn't have to be part of the desk itself.
It just bolts into the wall studs with big lag bolts -- very sturdy!
Here I'm just testing out various inputs. The Dell 2408 has a metric fuckton of them.
BTW, if you are curious: desktop resolution is 5760 X 1200
Here's the main equipment stack being mounted -- the bottom amp is an Acurus 200 X 3 for the front speakers, and the one above it is an Acurus 150 x 2 for the rears. The rackmount server case is above that, topped by a Middle Atlantic power distribution center and surge protector.
Laptop is sitting on a Zaltman Notebook cooler. It helps about 5C, bought it when I was having some overheating problems. Turns out that the laptop was clogged up with dust, but I prefer the loan drone of the laptop cooler to the higher pitch the laptop makes. Thats assuming I can even hear it over the Boston Speakers :)
This is the NHT subwoofer, a full-on 12" powered beast that is way more than anyone would need for a near-field loudspeaker setup -- which is just the way I like things.
It sits behind an acoustically transparent perforated shroud, so it's quite a surprise when it comes on.
Got a new monitor today, BenQ FP241W, with M-PVA panel. It should be better (not ideal but better) in photo enhancement than normal consumer models.
here's where I convert everything to my compter, and where I spend too much time on the internet. Note the border of junk I made between computer and creative side.
Home is where the MacBook is. This is my setup in my basement. Complete with ping pong table, flat files, and my cat. As seen on Shawn Blanc's Sweet Mac Setups
