Zhaohan Jiang, a Ph.D. student in electrical and computer engineering, analyzes a magnified image of a nanofabricated sample structure on a monitor connected to a microscope imaging system in the Excitonics and Photonics (ExP) Lab, located in the G.G. Brown Building on the University of Michigan’s North Campus in Ann Arbor, on Monday, August 25, 2025.
Their research unites theorists and experimentalists to advance applications of quantum materials. Their work could lead to breakthroughs in semiconductors, quantum technologies, energy conversion, and sensing systems.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at Colorado State University welcomes participants to the 2022 LaserNet US Users' Meeting. The meeting will bring together the LaserNetUS user community and facility scientists to discuss a wide-range of experiments, simulations, and diagnostic and measurement techniques related to the fields of high-energy-density and high-intensity laser science.
The initiative includes Colorado State University and its Advanced Beam Laboratory, home of the ALEPH laser. The ALEPH laser, which was developed in-house, is one of the most powerful in the world. August 16, 2022
Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering is recognizing the efforts of undergraduate students who help out in all facets of departmental life, with annual ECE Undergrad Excellence Awards. These students help with classes as undergraduate teaching assistants (UTAs), are integral parts of research groups, embark on incredible design projects, and perform all manner of service to the department through student societies and other volunteer groups.
