Dear Flickr Friends, Kia and I would like to apologize for disappearing for so long with no news. It's been such a rough year! Kia has been in Italy since the end of September. She has been busy taking care of her mother after an urgent surgery with severe post-surgical complications. I have been busy with work and trying to help Kia from afar and visiting her as much as possible.
Hopefully things will get better in 2016...
We would like to take this time to wish you all the most wonderful Christmas ever. Treasure your family time.

Things get be a little complicated in city life.

Doing a bit of sliding in these times.
Vacation or travel is still a bit difficult for us, though slowly it seems that we can go on a small holiday in the Netherlands soon. The sliding is an idea the style of mr. Escher gave me. And yes, I ave copied a bit of his style here in photography. I don't think it's a sin. The original picture was taken in Rotterdam , from above the entrance to the trainstation Blaak . It was a rather sunny day . Without the sliding that station already looks complicated, but when one slides here, we get a real wow effect in my opinion.
There is a lady going up on the escalator, and there is one person standing in front of the kiosk. They are reflected three times, while the stairs and the red handrails are giving this processed photo it's magical mathematical style. Going up and down at the same time.

Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is a complication of pulmonary embolism and a major cause of chronic PH leading to right heart failure and death. Lung ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy is the screening test of choice; a normal scan rules out CTEPH. In the case of an abnormal perfusion scan, a high-quality pulmonary angiogram is necessary to confirm and define the pulmonary vascular involvement and prior to making a treatment decision. PH is confirmed with right heart catheterisation, which is also necessary for treatment determination. In addition to chronic anticoagulation therapy, each patient with CTEPH should receive treatment assessment starting with evaluation for pulmonary endarterectomy, which is the guideline recommended treatment. For technically inoperable cases, PH-targeted medical therapy is recommended (currently riociguat based on the CHEST studies), and balloon pulmonary angioplasty should be considered at a centre experienced with this challenging but potentially effective and complementary intervention.

I lost my Baby Sister Patrice to complications from Surgery. It still does not seem real. I had to keep checking my phone messages when I woke thinking it must have been a awful dream. But it was not. She was gone. It was so sudden and unexpected we all are struggling with the realization that My Beautiful Sister is gone. So I have picked this pink rose to honor her. Her wonderful smile, big and given freely to anyone who crossed her path. She was Beautiful incredibly intelligent and compassionate. She had a great sense of humor and I can still hear her giggle. She was so filled with light and love. I will miss her dearly.

The very moment captured in this image is one of the greatest moments I have experienced in my photographic life.
I joined four of the best landscape photographers I know to fly to the summit of New Zealand’s highest peak and stay the night in this mountain cabin known as, Plateau Hut.
The dramatic nature of these mountains provides a rare challenge for the climbers that attempt them. The combination of heavy glaciation, tremendous vertical scale and unpredictable weather means that they are not readily won. For us, the challenge was different. This was a rare opportunity to capture one of the most spectacular scenes this amazing country has to offer in some of the most perfect conditions we could possibly have wished for.
At just over 12,000ft the experience of standing on the summit of one of New Zealand’s major peaks is a rare privilege. Above the clouds, between the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean, these mountains offer the opportunity to rise above life’s complications, worries and frustrations and take in the extensive views.

Difficult to understand the aims of the architect
Branchage literally means 'branches'.
The branchage refers to the law which ensures that any vegetation growth that overhangs roads and footpaths is cut back. This includes hedges, branches, trees, shrubs, grass and flowers etc.
the african finfoot (podica senegalensis) is an exceptional sighting...a -lifer-very uncommon and rare bird but,more than this, a very shy and retiring bird.
they are used to hunt fish underwater but many times they capture little prey also along the riverbands like insects,snakes,spiders and whatever they can overpower.
in many african trips i saw this bird just in the kafue river.it is a big river with very clean water and finfoots live where the riverbanks are covered with high and dense vegetation..the bird is used to live and hunt in the shade and it is another complication for photography...1/500 handheld F5.6 shooting from a little boat and 3200iso isnt a good start...but i hope acceptable

The Presbyterian congregation in St. Augustine was organized in June 1824, during the Territorial Period of Florida’s history.
This current day iconic structure was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1889 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth.
I wish I was. I had an appointment with a nurse very early this morning in preparation for my operation tomorrow: in the middle of which my phone kept ringing. It was the hospital with some complications with ended up with them saying my operation had been cancelled. Then at 2.00pm I got another call (just after I had eaten some lunch - thank goodness it was only soup) saying it was a misunderstanding and it was all back on again!! Anyway unless they ring again, this is me signing off for a while. I shall be in hospital for 7 days and who knows what I will feel like afterwards. See you on the other side
Today was a day for baking cakes and pies with you, my love. Lots of mess, dough on faces and bodies! I know I hindered more than I helped (lol), but everything was amazing. Whenever we're together doing something, I always want a piece, so cute <3 Lazy Monday, always full of funny and happy things. Love is all of that, and always being there for each other without complications. And as I always say, love is about surrendering, giving yourself, and taking care of each other every day with attention, and we do it well. After facing complications on the Hudson Line, the BNSF OCS was forced back to Selkirk and detoured an alternate route. The train ran east with an Amtrak crew from Selkirk to Springfield, then down to New Haven, and west to Pelham Bay. Here we see P990 starting it's journey east crossing over the Castleton Bridge in Schodack, NY.

I think that you can all tell that I am in a philosophical mood these days. There are so many complications in life that we, the people, have to solve and surely at the forefront is our inability to let go of the negative forces and embrace the positive ones. It is time for us to collectively come up with good reasons to work together for the better for ALL. In the long run, selfishness does not gain us anything, in fact we lose! Let's find ways to help one another, make the world a smaller place in which all are welcome. It is possible, we can and must do it!!!
