'Girls on the Run has taught me that it’s ok to be whoever you want to be.'
-Joanne, age 10, Jefferson
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, experiential learning program for girls ages 8 to 13. The programs combine training for a 5K or 1-mile community running event with healthy living education.
We offer 10-week programs during the fall and spring seasons. Volunteer coaches engage the girls in games and running-based workouts that encourage emotional, social, psychological and physical development.
Another addition to the growing steampunk city of Ruins of San Victoria.
This is the home of Mr and Mrs Urmakare, a rather wealthy couple and part of the aristocrafts of the city. They made their fortune selling handcrafted pocketwatches, made of the highest quality. Word quickly spread through the city of the craftsmanship the couple offered and they were able to charge their customers accordingly.
Hope you like this build and for those who happened to be in Borlänge in about 1,5 weeks, this build will be part (a small part) of our upcoming steampunk CB.
Situated in the Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park in Botany Cemetery, Sydney - the Art Deco Crematorium stands with great dignity.
Designed in 1937 by Louis Leighton Robertson and opened just a year later in 1938. Built by Lipscombe & Price.
I've wanted to see this beautiful and functional community Art Deco building for a long while.

The Intrepid serve as the spearhead in the Exodus fleet. It can quickly launch ships to intercept and investigate threats. It's thick hull armour can endure asteroids and intense radiation making it suitable to explore hostile environments. However it is not the most comfortable ship in the fleet, the living quartes are cramped and does not offer more than the most basic needs. It is not self sufficient and relies on other ships to fuel up it's life support systems.
The design of the SHIP is inspired by www.flickr.com/photos/crazy_texan/21419625522/in/gallery-... built by John Mofatt. One of my favourite SHIP.
The build is not quite finished. I will continue to improve it as it will be part of a CB by Swebrick called Exdodus. I will hopefully add some lights to the rear hangar area so it will be more visable.
There is a small M-motor built inside the engine, to make it spin. But I didn't have time to fit a batterypack inside the hull, but I'm pretty confident I can fit one. It will require that I take the whole ship apart... So I will do it 'later'.
The panels are also a bit blank. I want to add some more detailing.
"Aaaaahhh! Welcome to Watto's shop, eh? Take a look around. I've got everything you need, eh? He-he-he-he-he!"

Everyone's favorite Toydarian! :D

If had skipped the underside it would have spared me a lot of hassle.
At first it was impossible to carry the ship the underside panels, the would break or come lose. But by now the are more sturdy, but there is som stress that always threaten to break the panels apart.

"To find my mother."

Yeah, really dramatic dialog Mr. Lucas.
I know the swoop bike isn't perfect, but it's the best design I could come up with considering the dark red parts I had available.

The Forum, a community building in Norwich, Norfolk.
It stands opposite the St Peter Mancroft Church. Designed by Michael Hopkins and Partners, the Forum was built as a millennium project for the East of England and finished in October 2001. Built on the site of the previous Norwich Library which burnt down in 1994, the Forum is visited by more than 2.5 million people every year. The building is home to the Norfolk & Norwich Millennium (NML) library, the local Tourist Information Centre, and the BBC East offices and studios, where the regional television news bulletin BBC Look East and local radio station BBC Radio Norfolk are based.
Since The Forum opened, the amphitheatre-like steps at the front have provided a venue for many different functions such as: amateur theatrical performances, outdoor opera, musical competitions, art exhibitions, processions, celebrations and a real-ice skating rink.
Because the forum is funded partly by lottery grants, they hold certain events which are free of charge for people to attend. For example, Retro Arcade 2: Megablast in which Fusion (a digital gallery) is transformed into a vast array of gaming machines.
The Forum is also perfectly placed for people to meet and have certain social events safe in the knowledge that others from the area will know where it is. It is seen as a very social spot and is notorious for attracting skaters and free runners who parade their skills to the crowds surrounding them. In keeping with its image of being a notorious meeting place within the city, gamers have chosen the forum as the place to hold their first 3DS streetpass event within the city.
The Forum is part of Norwich 12, a collection of notable buildings in Norwich spanning the Norman, medieval, Georgian, Victorian and modern eras.
Tey. Magic Lantern Theater, Community Building, downtown Spokane, Washington. I think there are 35 Teys including the two sitting in the back and the one bringing in popcorn (hopefully she'll share).

Signpost to the wash house
In the gigantic municipal housing complex Karl-Marx-Hof in Vienna Heiligenstadt, which was opened in 1930, there was the "luxury" of running water and a toilet in every flat, which was still rare at that time, but there were no bathrooms and washing machine connections. As a communal facility, so-called wash houses were built in two inner courtyards where bodies and laundry could be washed. Gradually, these wash houses lost their importance and function. Eventually, one of them was converted into a museum, which always focuses on socially significant events of the past. Only the name Wash house has remained for the museum.

Major General William Starke Rosencrans
W.S. Rosencrans, soldier, engineer, architect and inventor, was born in Kingston Township in 1819. After graduation from West Point in 1842, he served in the Engineering Corps then taught at West Point. As a civilian, he engineered a river lock system and perfected lamp oil. During the Civil War, Rosencrans commanded Union Armies of the Ohio, the Cumberland and the Missouri, and developed a popular war- time ambulance. "Old Rosy" led his troops to victory at Luka, Corinth, Stones River and Tullahoma. He helped raise $789,000 for soldiers' relief and designed St. Joseph's Cathedral in Columbus. He later served as Minister to Mexico, Registrar to the U.S. Treasury and as a Congressman from California. He died in 1898 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
Sunbury was an Ohio stagecoach town from 1820 – 1873.
From its beginning in 1816, Sunbury was destined to be a stagecoach town. Anticipating large numbers of stagecoach travelers, the town's founder, Lawrence Myers, built an inn at the intersection of two major stagecoach routes (the old Walhonding Trail and the Delaware Newark Pike). In 1820, the first stagecoach arrived in Sunbury from Mt. Vernon. Famous stagecoach travelers who stopped in Sunbury included William Henry Harrison, Rutherford B. Hayes, Henry Clay and Johnny Appleseed. Railway travel became more prevalent, and consequently, the last stagecoach rolled out of Sunbury in 1873.

Lois' section of a group mosaic project -- a bench outside the movie theatre in Davis, California. This mosaic used ceramic tile, stone tile, glass baubles, and some of my hand-made ceramic bits.
Well-known mosaicist Donna Billick led the team, collected all the "stripes", built the flying carpet structure, and grouted the work.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trimont,_Minnesota
Trimont is a small community nestled in south central Minnesota. Trimont was once two different towns, platted by competing railroads. The two towns were Triumph, to the east, and Monterey to the west. These towns joined, using the first letters in each town's name, to form what is today known as Trimont. This gives Trimont the unique characteristic of two separate Main Street business districts which are on the same street, yet placed about a half-mile apart.

The Lower East Side neighborhood of Loisaida is known for its famed murals and the artists who create them. It’s also the birthplace of Thrive Collective and our School Murals program at PS/MS 34 in 2007. We were delighted to return with a second mural project in 2016 — this time exploring the neighborhood’s cultural identity on the focal wall behind the stage in the auditorium.
Thrive Collective’s first school mural project, before we were known as Thrive Collective, was the Dream Walls in the schoolyard of PS/MS 34.
