Nearly full box of "Comix" army stationery. Sadly, the envelopes {like so many vintage stationery sets} have already sealed themselves together. Also the box is in pretty bad shape, it's more like the idea of a box held together with scotch tape. The star of the show, however, are the illustrations by possibly the most famous of American war cartoonists, Bill Mauldin. {He had a stamp released last year, you know.} Only one of the sheets has become discolored and there are 4 to 5 sheets of each of the 5 illustrations. The ones which focus on letter writing are my favorites, but they all have charm.

The comic culture is vastly different. I've never been a comic freak any more than Granny giving me a hand full of quarters and me buying comics and Peanuts (Snoopy) books as a kid. There wasnt anything else to do. Occasionally I'd order something, but $2 was a lot of money to send off in the mail back then.

“Cosplay” è la pratica che consiste nell'indossare un costume che rappresenti un personaggio riconoscibile in un determinato ambito e interpretarne il modo di agire. Poiché il fenomeno ha avuto origine in Giappone, il personaggio rappresentato da un cosplayer viene spesso scelto tra quelli individuabili nei manga e negli anime giapponesi, ma non è raro che il campo di scelta si estenda ai tokusatsu, ai videogiochi, alle band musicali, particolarmente di artisti J-Pop, J-Rock, K-Pop o K-Rock (musica pop e rock giapponese o coreana), ai giochi di ruolo, ai film e telefilm e ai libri di qualunque genere e persino alla pubblicità.

Finally getting around to playing around with comix balloons for photostories! And figuring out how it's done. I think it looks cool and great and makes the dolls and their scenes look like so finished and polished. I loved comics like the Archies, Richie Rich, Wonder Woman, Batman, Spiderman as a kid. It is great to be able to make them now as an adult with the dolls.
