Panel 10-Attention
It’s not until the very end of the comic that I color the comic panel...but however for the tenth panel of the comic...we’ve featured a rather abstract take on the “Service engine soon” light. Nowadays, that light is just an icon of a car engine. I had many moments that the “service engine soon” came on at the wrong time when we owned the Chevy Trailblazer (as in the midsize SUV that was the stablemate of the Oldsmobile Bravada, GMC Envoy, Saab 9-7x, Isuzu Ascender and Buick Rainer, not the compact SUV sold now) and I don’t think we had that problem when we owned a Toyota Sienna and Toyota Prius and so far...it’s not happening with the Chevrolet Equinox. Of course it’s not just the “service engine soon” light that is the most commonly light that stays on to the point that people get annoyed by. I see many car auction sites that have cars with either the warning light for brakes and airbags on! The drawing of this car instrument panel is the Buick Regal sold from 2011 and there was the site on the internet that is dedicated to car owner’s manuals dating back from the start of the automobile industry...I had to study the location of the location of each light and yup...for the information display...I featured an image of Austin looking pretty annoyed seeing that engine light come on and maybe do some “extra credit” of what to do if such things happen.
Panel 11-Hood
This is the most fun panel of all the “Big Cheese Panels”. Yup....we have revealed that Dave Eversol is a car enthusiast and he owns a TVR Cerebra coupe. It’s the 1999 model year car complete with the Tuscan-style headlamps and the 4.5-liter AJP8 “Straight-Eight” V8 engine. It was just a shame that TVR never had a US presence compared to many other exotic car makers....I bet just like DeTomaso, it could have just been sold at Lincoln/Mercury dealerships...perhaps offsetting the failure of the Merkur brand in the 1980s since most TVRs would be powered by Ford engines. Yes...that’s Chad holding a shirt as he’s about to do a “photoshoot” with Dave.
