After a bunch of work (including a scratch re-write of a markov engine in Perl to lay the groundwork for some advanced future-feature work), I've got a solid functioning beta of a comic-strip Markovizer.

 

While the script can in principle work for any comic given proper definition files, I've been using Garfield as my testbed, and this is an example run of the program, which populates geometrically-defined regions (i.e. the original, blanked-out word balloons) with stochastically generated text based on transcripts of original Garfield strips.

This comic is complete and looks good. It shows minimal wear around the edges and covers. Good cover gloss. Copy is attached at both staples and is not loose in any way. No coupons have been cut from the comic. No newsstand date stamps, pen marks or pricing stickers are present on the covers. Pages are in great shape. Overall this is a solid complete nice looking copy that is ready for another read.

This comic book would make a great collectible or could be put to great use in your scrapbook, collage, altered art, card or mixed media projects.
