This editorial cartoon by Bearman appeared December 22, 2007 on the online edition of the Cincinnati Beacon (www.cincinnatibeacon.com). It depicts the NBC show "Clash of the Choirs", won by Nick Lachey's group in Cincinnati. It focuses on Jessica Simpson reading about Nick's success in the same week that he is reading about her "jinxing" Dallas quarterback Tony Romo by appearing at the game.
So farm season's in full swing and I've been doing some very lame cooking with it, so it seems like a good time to break out the "30 Days of Dinner" challenge again. I had every intention of grilling tonight, with turkey burgers on the docket, but the US-Belgium game went (ludicrously) into extra time, so it was juuuuuuust late enough when I got started with dinner prep to not want to deal with lighting the grill. So my "kick myself in the butt to be more creative by documenting our every dinner" inaugural entry is... what I've been making pretty much every day since the scape harvest: pasta with scape-and-basil pesto. For added interest and farmshare consumption, tonight's toss-in was sauteed zucchini and broccoli, rather than our standby of chicken. The game also ended juuuuust early enough that I had enough get-up-and-go to make salads on the side, using up some farmshare lettuce, radicchio, scallions, and cucumber. While it was uninspired, it did feel nice to pull so many different types of veggies out of the fridge. It's well and truly summer now!

MODERN ART I LIKE
"LeDray learned to sew as a child, and many of his works, including "Come Together," consist entirely of handmade clothes. Here an arc of tiny clothes "comes together" in a rainbow celebration of apparent unity above a small, brightly decorated work shirt. On the work shirt itself, LeDray has embroidered an array of smiling lips, a peace sign, a melting ice cream cone, explosions of flowers, and other images that create a naive, almost goofy recollection of the hippie dreams of the 1960s. The name of the sculpture, moreover, recalls the famous Beatles song from 1969. The miniature clothes stretching over the shirt, however, display a distinctly humdrum everydayness that bespeaks the distance separating the reality of Middle America from the utopian hopes of the counterculture."

The Art Fair and the Biennale have grown to become arguably the two most significant mechanisms of the international art market for the dissemination and distribution of art works across national and cultural boundaries. This course will analyze and discuss the trajectory of the art fair and the biennale taking into account historical precedents, cultural contexts, economic factors and the players who have dominated these arenas. Topics covered will include globalization, Art Basel, soft power diplomacy, national pride, cultural rehabilitation, Art Chicago, urban regeneration, temporal zones of art activity, the curator as rock star, funding the arts, Sub prime meltdown, the Miami factor, and more.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
The parade was held in Graham Ave on Sunday June 5th 2016. Despite the short rain storm the parade continue with horses, cultural music, lines of historical cars, historical bikes, waving flags, and even a wonder woman took part in celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month this year.
The horses were a show. They did a mini dance at the end of their march. I would called it the grand finale horse tap dance.
The cars were also a big hit. There was a 1956 shiny blue Volkswagen beetle in mint condition. It was a true treasure and sight.
Then, there are the bikes. They were an interesting.
In the crowd, you might even spot a few photographers with their DSLR tool in hand.
