Comcast Center - Mansfield, MA
Comcast, the Freedom Region, recently wrapped up a food drive for the Family Service Food Pantry. Employees from 12 sites throughout NJ, PA and DE participated and collected over 1,000 food items!

'all green building' The interior and exterior of Comcast Center will incorporate a range of green characteristics.
For example, floor heights were lengthened to 15 feet on some floors and as high as 17 feet on others to increase ceiling heights and the size of windows. This will allow more natural light to enter the office space, which is more pleasing to workers. It also reduces the amount of artificial light needed and therefore the amount of energy used to light the building. Another benefit: less energy to cool it will be needed.
In addition, carpeting made with recycled materials will be used in some areas. Building systems, such as heating and air conditioning, will be controlled floor to floor, so not to waste it in unused areas. Brise-soleils (external window screens) will be incorporated in the building's winter garden to shield the amount of sunlight coming in during peak times of day while allowing in natural light. Construction materials will be recycled and even paints with low to little volatile organic compounds will be used.
It's anticipated that even more green techniques will be integrated when Comcast finalizes its interior fit out.
