More specifically demitasse* teaspoons. This hobby only came about as I also collect demitasse cups and saucers. This teaspoon was made by Reed and Barton a prominent American silversmith manufacturer. They were based in the city of Taunton, Massachusetts and operated between 1824 and 2015.
*A demitasse spoon is a diminutive spoon, smaller than a teaspoon.

Macro Mondays: Hobby.
Monarchs certainly add a splash of color to the yard as they flit about. Yesterday there were eight in the yard most of the day. On occasion, another would wonder through.
I have started raising them again this year. There are several tiny cats that have hatched from eggs in protective custody and five huge ones that shall start the metamorphous process today or tomorrow. Each time I have gone out to collect food for them I have ended up bringing in more eggs. It looks like it's going to be a great season for the monarch.
Have a splendid day, happy snapping.
...collecting seashells down by the seashore.
our last home was on the central coast of california. we could see the ocean from our deck, and at night we could hear the waves crashing and the seals barking.
we couldn't find a seaside home up here that we could afford [and it would have been in a tsunami zone], so we chose our wonderful property over the eel river, with a peak of the ocean on a clear day.
perfect for us and the dogs.

6’8d - six shillings and eightpence - was a third of the old pre decimal British pound. Twelve pennies in a shilling. Twenty shillings in a pound. It was all rather complicated but there were certain tricks to make multiplication and addition easier, which I’ve now forgotten. If we were to go back to that system, and nothing would surprise me now, a lot of people would have difficulty with it - there would have to be an app.
I remember 6’8d once being the price of a “single” vinyl record.
These are urban women collecting a diversity of seafood (shell fish, octopus, crabs, etc) from the reef flats to supplement their meals. Their homes are nearby, facing the waterfront.
This image honours the women of Tonga who go to great lengths to feed their families, especially during a drought, or after a cyclone has stripped the trees (breadfruit, papaya, mangoes, etc) of fruit.
In the background is Fafa (a coral cay) on which there is a small resort. The resort introduces tourist guests to Tongan culture, as well as providing opportunities for diving, snorkelling, whale watching and sailboarding.

Gannets with black iris in the eye are those that have recovered from avian flu. This one seems to have lost its blue pigmentation but doesn't look as completely black as others do.
A quelques dizaines de mètres de la guesthouse, le temple ouvre ses portes pour l'heure de la prière... Et même le chien respecte ce moment.
My relatives used to run a small post office … the stamps they collected provided a view into history, art & politics.
Lamm collects bramble twines. No matter how often we or the other sheep rid her of the thorny decoration, she immediately gets new ones.

UP 4013 and a BNSF motor team up collecting grain along the CP Detroit Lakes Subdivision. Its current train has loaded grain from CHS in Hazel south of Thief River Falls. The detector near Plummer found a problem mid-train, so it suffered a delay immediately after getting underway. It is seen here south of Brooks.
Up and out for an early morning walk today on another beautiful spring day and trying to get better acquainted with my local wildlife.

I've shot this place behind the food lion in town before but used a 35mm and wasnt totally thrilled with the results and wanted to go back to use a 50. Its about the size of an old Kmart and just full of stuff of all kinds. It used to be a textile mill, Upholstery shop and other things. Now its for collecting .
I was out with a photographer friend yesterday and mentioned it since we were heading towards town and she said yeah lets check it out.
I got out and set up the tripod, release, CPL and focus and I hear someone coming out of the back. He looks at me says, " There must be better things to shoot than the junk in there". I disagreed and said the beauty of decay is underrated sir. He then laughed and agreed and told me about his father who was a photographer way back when he was a kid. So he told me a bout how good his father was and wished he pursued it more.
Turns out his son owns the building and just sold it , its scheduled for demolition soon he told me so I asked him if he would mind posing downstairs since he was part of its history, he agreed.
This is Tim down below ,shot through a broken out window on the right side. What you see hanging is the roof falling in , hence the light from above and the hot spots everywhere. The CPL was about no match for those but they work with it I think.. Thank you to Tim and Joyce!
Nikon Nikkor 50mm 1.2 AIS @f11 shutter release and Nikon CPL. No PS foolery.
