Some of us, like me, take photos for the beauty of what we see in SL. Others make their beauty, some tell stories with their art or they have art with purpose.
scylla.rhiadra's art has meaning and purpose. Her photos tell a story , some of the stories are hard hitting , socially relevant and profound.
She uses darkness to help illuminate her story in a way that leaves me in awe. I did not experience her art till she bumped into me one day at 777 motors. I checked out a few of her exhibits at different galleries and was blown away with the topics she covered and shared with her arts in an SL gallery. I felt like I could have been at any modern museum , maybe in SoHo New York.
I was honored when she asked if I'd take a pic with her. Her version shows how much she understands the use of lighting and darkness to share her vision. I took a photo, she captured a moment.

Our third collection is named "WONDERLAND" and it is a collaboration between TRES BEAU with NONNATIVE and GOREGLAM. In this collection, each of us made a special product inspired mainly by butterflies and we tried to include it in different elements. We made a skin, a hairbase+ponytail, and 2 makeup collections! 💘

I held a light while Sue took the photo with her phone. Then, I did a bit of editing, mostly darkening the background to eliminate distractions.

L'œuvre abstraite, aux couleurs vives et aux motifs ludiques, a vu le jour en collaboration avec les Brugeois. Des photos de tissus et d'objets ont été collectées pour permettre à l'artiste de réaliser un dessin qui a ensuite été imprimé sur un maillage architectural.
The abstract work, with bright colors and playful patterns, was created in collaboration with the inhabitants of Bruges. Photos of fabrics and objects were collected to allow the artist to make a design which was then printed on an architectural mesh.

We had such a beautiful snowfall overnight that, for some odd reason, it made me think of Schubert's Winterreise Lieder Song Cycle. And then I felt like doing this in a Georgia O'Keeffe style. What a combination for the second day of what we're calling a New Year. I wonder what Schubert and O'Keeffe think of my pairing?!
Here's one of my favourites in the cycle sung by one of my favourite tenors, whom I've now obviously drawn into the collaboration! My mother accompanied my father for many of the Winterreise - what a duo they were musically!

Kingdom of Wrack is a sequence of narrative poems about the collapse of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. I wish I could say it was happy, Hallmark greeting card poetry, but it is about the brutality of war and ethnic hatreds:
