O óleo essencial de breu branco é considerado o olibano brasileiro.

"Breuzinho" (Breu Branco)
Breuzinho, como é carinhosamente chamado pelos ribeirinhos e índios da Amazônia, é uma resina extraída de uma árvore cujo nome científico é "Protium heptaphyllum", da família das Burseraceaes.
É, assim como tantas outras, uma planta sagrada para os índios, que utilizam esta resina em rituais de cura, cerimônias espirituais, para "afastar os maus espíritos" e os problemas físicos.
Interessante é a relação que o breuzinho tem com o passado e com os sonhos - muitas pessoas fizeram regressões após o uso do mesmo.
É também utilizado na perfumaria - do Latim "per fumum" ou "pro fumum": através da fumaça, e "incensum": acender, incendiar.
Desde a antiguidade, as resinas, e compostos de plantas, são utilizadas em rituais ou defumações e purificações de templos. Há várias menções, por exemplo, na Bíblia, como em Êxodus 30:34, Levítico 2:1, 16:13, 24:7, Crônicas 26:18, Isaías 1:13, 60:6, Jeremias 6:20, Malaquias 1:11, Mateus 2:12, 28:77, Hebreus 9:4, Lucas 1:9, Salmos de Davi 141:2, Apocalipse 5:8, 8:3-4, sobre o uso do incenso. Sendo o incenso mencionado na Bíblia, uma resina obtida da árvore "Boswelia carterii", conhecida popularmente como olíbano.
O famoso médico grego Hipócrates (600 a.C.) utilizava incenso para curar a asma e para aliviar as dores do parto. No Império Romano, era utilizado no culto do lar no altar da casa "Lararium" (ou Lararim) onde os membros da família interagiam todos os dias com os deuses. Na África, o incenso é utilizado para acalmar as dores de estômago, para melhorar o funcionamento do fígado e circulação do sangue, além de usos religiosos.
Há inúmeras menções sobre o uso do incenso: nas escrituras védicas (Vedas), Mahabharata, dentre outras escrituras da Índia; em livros de medicina tradicional tibetana; no livro chinês Shen Nung (o mais antigo tratado de medicina da história da humanidade - 2700 a.C.).
Em manuscritos egípcios, consta - além de incensos (das resinas), sendo o mais famoso deles o "Khiphi" - a utilização de muitas plantas aromáticas (ricas em óleos essenciais). Estas eram usadas: em emplastos faciais para o rejuvenescimento (Cleópatra utilizava a mirra "Commiphora mirrha", também da família das Burseraceaes); em embalsamentos, banhos...
Há vários relatos sobre a utilização de incensos e plantas aromáticas pelos Árabes, tendo destacado-se o famoso alquimista "Avicena" (Ibn Sina - 980 a 1037 d.C.) - primeiro na história a destilar o óleo essencial de "Rosa centifolia" o qual escreveu o famoso "Cânon da medicina".
A árvore de Breuzinho, é endêmica no Brasil e países vizinhos, previlégio nosso...
A resina é aromática, rica em componentes como os triterpenos alpha e beta-amyrina, que possuem propriedades analgésicas, antinflamatórias e gastroprotetoras, comprovadas cientificamente, através de estudos e pesquisas realizadas pelo Departamento de Fisiologia e Farmacologia, da Universidade Federal do Ceará.
Na Amazônia a resina também é utilizada para problemas de asma, bronquite, como calmante nos estados de agitações, anti-estresse, problemas de memória, concentração e coordenação motora - além dos usos descritos anteriormente.
Existe no mercado - em lojas de produtos naturais (integrais), lojas esotéricas e afins, incensos feitos artesanalmente com esta resina, destacando-se os das marcas INCA e Fênix, por sua qualidade.

These huge bars weigh over 6 oz each. They are scented with essential oils of Bulgarian lavender, sweet marjoram and peppermint.
This is a sweet, traditional Cranberry scent. It is a single note fragrance with no other fragrance notes to compete with the straight cranberry scent. Cranberry is a tart seasonal scent that will be a wonderful foil for one too many spicy scents.

Fragranced with Peppermint and Lemon Scented Eucalyptus essential oils and decorated with a beautiful Australian gum nut
This is scented with lavender, sage, and basil, and smells very fresh and clean. Goat milk and shea butter make it feel especially nice on your skin. It is strongly scented so you are left with a light fragrance on your skin afterward. The soap rinses cleanly away and is all natural except for the fragrance and color. Each bar weighs 4oz. - 4.5oz.
