Here is a closeup of this species elytral surface that so thoroughly, under sunshine, humiliates the most expensive cameras. It appears completely unremarkable in shade. The mystery is still unsolved. This is also the pose they most often assume when it gets cloudy as they await the return of the sun. Same beetle as the previous photo.

Had a very pleasant stroll along the beach this afternoon.

Trying out an old nikon 135mm 2.8 today while chilling with Petra and Tom after an eventful evening at tribe of frog. The clouds are what could be seen from St Andrews park over Gloucester road.

Currently this lens is being used to shoot a long exposure time-lapse of almost the same view, It will be posted soon.

I believe a case could be made for the earth's atmosphere, aka the sky, being never ending. There were wonderful clouds over this field of corn yesterday.

Cloudy day at the sea

Sun was out this morning but it has since clouded up. Although the sunflowers were present the sun was straining to find its way down.

Aci Trezza is a town in Sicily, southern Italy. Located on the coast of the Ionian Sea, the village has a long history of maritime activity. Aci Trezza is a popular spot for Italian vacationers in the summer.

Of the coast of Aci Trezza are three tall, column-shaped islands. According to local legend, these great stones are the ones thrown at Odysseus in The Odyssey.

Not far from the coast (about 400m), there is the "Island Lachea", identified as the Homeric "island of goats". Today it houses a biology station studies of the University of Catania.
