Yesterday was such a cloudy day. Opposite today. No clouds, sunny and warm. Almost summer,
I almost got a sunburn. :-)
These lone pine trees always catch my eye when I go this way. After waiting about 10 brutally cold minutes for the sun, the clouds opened just enough for a little light to hit the rise. At the top of the photo is about the only blue sky around at that moment. Awoke this morning to a double-thickness of white over everything, and even late in the day much of it remains...
Other than the slight framing this is an untouched image. The pond was quite still other than an occasional ripple, and very gray from the cloud cover.
it was a cloudy overcast early evening as I caputred this shot at Navarre Beach, Florida just before the sun set.

November 21, 2010: A tip from my friend Scott Spicer of the power line-up on CSX Tr. Q620 at 10pm on a Saturday night gave me the morning ambition to drive to Lock 10 on the Mohawk River east of Amsterdam, NY the following morning.
Factors in 2010 included 25mph operating speeds between Potsdam and Pulaski with re-crews at Massena, Watertown, and Syracuse. Elements that have changed since 2013.
If it wasn't for a mass of "high thin clouds", this view of 3 CN SD60F's #5532, #5526 & #5519 with C40-8M #2438 might have been one of my better scenes during the years I was documenting Q620/621 (when symbols meant opposite travel versus today)
