One of those sunsets you encounter on your journeys and you just stand there taking it all in.

Hope you were able to enjoy the magical sunset tonight. Here’s it from my fish eye window! Let me know which one you like the most!

Sometimes the most amazing things are right outside your door! This was the view from my family room window that I saw one day as I was on the computer. To say it was amazing was an understatement! I don't know when I've ever seen such delicate and interesting patterns in the sky before, so of course, I ran out in my back yard and shot it. Believe it or not, it had been even more astonishing, but some of the detail was lost just in the minute or two it took me to grab my camera and capture the view. You can still see the elaborate cloud patterns, though, which look as if the angels were painting the clouds! It almost has the appearance of crossed angel wings.

This was processed using an online HDR converter that I'd never tried before. The one I usually use has been having issues for the last couple of days. If you'd like to try it, here's the link: www.imgonline.com.ua/eng/hdr-jpg.php Just be careful not to click on all the download links that are strewn throughout the page. It isn't necessary as there is no download other than your finished photo. It will make your file smaller so you'll have to save your original and resize the HDR pic to bring back the size. It did seem to work pretty well. My original is below.

I've been taking it easy today- sleeping in and trying to get better. I feel remarkably better than I did yesterday. The rapid recovery has me and my brother wondering if I perhaps was passing a kidney stone. He went through that a few years ago and it was horrific for him. While mine wasn't that extreme, it's sure not something I care to repeat, and I certainly wouldn't want it to be any worse, so thanks for all your good thoughts and prayers!

300 images stacked to create this 10 minute (effective) exposure of tonight's sunset.

Cloud painting a sunset.

This is a technique pioneered by Matt Molloy (www.flickr.com/photos/matt_molloy) whereby you take a long series of long exposure photos (these are around 15 seconds) and then layer them in photoshop using "lighten only". The result is a still life time lapse of the development of the clouds like brush strokes over the sky. I have used over 80 photos for this one, so patience is a virtue with this technique! This is perhaps my fifth real attempt at this and the first one I have been really happy with. The view is from the deck of the house Villa Artemis in Metamorfosi, Trizina, Greece.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The sun touched everything with orange color..the clouds ,the green paddy field, the green plants...for a moment it looked magical :)

For this piece, I utilized about a dozen types of elements from photos that I shot around Portland, Seattle and the northern Oregon Coast. Each of the people were from other photos that I shot and were individually chosen and placed into the art in a way that they are an integral part of the art as a whole. If you look more closely, you will see a lot of craziness!
