On this second trip the clouds are much lower than they were during my earlier trip over there - down to around 2200 now.

The climb went on and on at the same amazing rate, and we were soon at cloudbase topping out at 1,000m (yes, that's one kilometre!) above the top of the 'teeth', getting chillier by the minute, and seemingly headed for the ‘grey room’.

guess it's not as stable as NWS predicted. cloudbase ~2k :-(
