Departed Samdrup Jongkhar to our next overnight Trashigang.
Spectecular trip with mostly low cloudbase and from time to time clear skies and our first distant sights on eastern Bhutan.
These grainy shots are not the best ever Reds shots, however!! They are a tribute to undoubtedly the best Aerobatic Display Team. The Reds performed at Belfast City on 4 October 2008 in a cloudbase around 1500feet in pouring rain. No one expected a display everyone was once again thrilled at the skill on display. Their guiding motto is ‘Eclat’ which means brilliance, and they proved that again.
Heading out to St Eynard (over Grenoble).
That day, weather was not looking so good. I made the best of it. Some 40-50 km distance flight with low cloudbase. Top-landing before the storm.

THE WEATHER: Sunny intervals with cumulus cloud at 420m fast moving in the SW airstream (cloudbase height data courtesy of Met Office). Visibility very good. Wind direction 210 deg; mean wind speed 16km/h. Pressure rising continuously over past 24 hours, max1007mb T -0 from min 985mb T -24.
Temperature: 10.3 deg C Pressure: 1007mb RH: 82%.

Spectecular trip with mostly low cloudbase and from time to time clear skies and our first distant sights on eastern Bhutan.
The cloudbase was 300 feet and horizontal visibility was reported as 7000 metres. So not a great deal was happening... although the Coastguard SAR helicopter was doing practice instrument approaches and there were a few commercial flights arriving and departing.
