“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.”
Rabindranath Tagore, Stray Birds
At sea off the coast of Argentina, a cloud appeared that stretched across the horizon, looking like a twisted rope or towel miles long. This type of cloud formation is called a Roll Cloud, a relatively rare type of Arcus cloud. They are completely detached from other cloud features and usually, but not always, seen at sea. The name comes from their appearance of rolling horizontally.

The Strawberry Moon.

The view high up on the Sype Land Moors looking past Jenny Twigg and her daughter Tib towards Fountains Earth Moor. The sky was just incredible in both colour and texture.
At sunrise, clouds blanket the Schoodic Peninsula, Acadia National Park, Maine, US. The bright spot in the clouds is a marine navigation light sticking above the clouds. From Cadillac Mountain, Mount Desert Island, Maine.
