Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a blue day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate clothes pegs (or clothespins if you are in Canada… I had to do a Google search for the theme) at Looking close on Friday.
I had those tiny clothes pegs or clothespins forever, so it is a perfect time to use them in a picture. As a laundry expert (or so I like to think), clothes pegs should have no secrets for me… Unfortunately most of the time I use a dryer so my clothes pegs are rather useless now… But I really loved the colors of those tiny clothes pegs so I bought them… The tiny red clothespin is about 3cm and the other very old one is a normal size clothespin.
I hope you will like it !! See you later my friends !!
Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

While standing still in a traffic jam with our van, I made this clothes peg in love for Smile on Saturday
Maybe you like it ...or maybe not ;-)
Happy Smile on Saturday
A clothes line was a news forecast,
to neighbours passing by.
There were no secrets you could keep,
when clothes were hung to dry.
It also was a friendly link,
for neighbours always knew,
If company had stopped on by,
to spend a night or two.
For then you'd see the fancy sheets
and towels upon the line;
You'd see the company tablecloths,
with intricate design.
The line announced a baby's birth,
to folks who lived inside,
As brand new infant clothes,
were hung so carefully with pride.
The ages of the children,
could so readily be known
By watching how the sizes changed,
you'd know how much they'd grown.
It also told when illness struck,
as extra sheets were hung;
Then night-clothes, and a bathrobe too,
haphazardly were strung.
It said "Gone on vacation now",
when lines hung limp and bare.
It told "We're back!" when full lines sagged,
with not an inch to spare.
New folks in town were scorned upon,
if washing was dingy grey,
As neighbours raised their brows,
and looked disgustedly away.
But clotheslines now are of the past,
for dryers make work less,
Now what goes on inside a home,
is anybodies guess.
I really miss that way of life;
it was a friendly sign,
When neighbours knew each other best,
by what was on the line.

Arranged in a Southwestern pot for Looking close... on Friday theme: Clothes Pegs (a.k.a. clothes pins). HLCoF everyone!
These wooden clothes pins came from my mother's clothes pin bucket and are probably at least 80 years old.
I don't know about you, but pegs were like socks here, they kept disappearing. We use these stainless steel ones these days, they last forever and don't rust. Must be better for the environment I guess.
There is a big bonus with these ones as opposed to the old, coloured plastic ones - you don't have to match the same colour pegs for any given piece of washing, preferably the same colour as the item of washing if possible. You just can't have 2 different coloured pegs on the same piece of washing, it's simply wrong! Or is it just me who is OCD like that? And don't get me started on stacking the dishwasher, suffice to say that if my wife stacks it, I unstack and restack ........... ;)
These guys still aren't lawn mower-proof unfortunately and I suspect that was the fate of the old plastic and wood ones.
Have a great new week everyone!
Spirit is a Ukranian brand. Every week they have fantastic outfits in the weekend sales, of which I have quite a few. I'm showcasing the latest one available in the most recent Saturday Sale. While each individual item is L$75, I bought both fatpacks. And I will keep doing so, in a minute endeavour to show my support, until the people of Ukraine are free from war, free from terror.
Spring will come and so will happiness, hold on.
Life will get warmer.

I hope spring comes really soon !!!!

A bespectacled gray-haired woman with an umbrella over her head, checks a dress for sale at a makeshift clothes stall on the roadside of a village street in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.
According to the woman-seller, all the clothes on display at her clothes stall were sent to her by her younger sister in California, USA, so that she (the seller) will have another source of income. All the clothes, she added, are new, but she is selling them at a cheaper price so she may able to dispose them all instantly.
this is today's topic in the group "Looking close... on Friday!"
