The famous clocks at Canary Wharf from a recent visit by Caroline and myself to London.

We took loads of pictures having the time to review them is quite challenging time wise.

When I was a little girl I used to love 'telling the time' with Dandelion clocks ... ah- happy days!

This clock is in the restored dealership building next door to the restored Sinclair.

This was a very thoughtful gift for Christmas from one of my coworkers ... sitting at my desk now reminding me that it is always time to be out taking photographs :)))

Clock Tower, Horseshoe Barracks, Shoebury. Through the arch is the parade ground and the old barracks, now converted, as is much of the garrison, to generally up-market civilian dwellings. Some military relics such as this arch and clock tower remain together with some artistically scattered cannons on new brick plinths.

The garden is now filled with dandelion clocks, though not the big, white, fluffy ones that we are used to. These are taller, with narrower stems and darker, courser seeds. I was struggling with the in-camera WB, and no matter what I did the seeds looked white like the normal dandelions, but they are closer to this warm, brown colour, much like they are after post processing.

Did you know that the word dandelion comes from the French 'dent de lion' meaning 'lion's tooth' in reference to the toothed leaves?

Suki watching and listening to our Grandfather Clock whirring and striking the hour.

My subjects these days are limited, just parts of the garden and my animals.

Anyway, Suki, my cat and my friend sticks with me wherever I am and this mono portrait is a fair reflection of her face and character

There is a broken clock on a tree in the woods near where we live. I've been photographing it every couple of years. It's a timeless beauty.

At this site in 1834, thousands marched to support the Tolpuddle Martyrs. The clock tower was built in 1855 by the Metropolitan Cattle Market as a centrepiece. The cattle market has since been replaced by Smithfield's Meat Market and is now a recreational park.

I didn't get a beautiful sunrise but what a great model. I didn't get her name but whoever you are, thanks.

"Looking close... on Friday!"

juillet 2024

Close to dusk, the clock on this tower was lit up, along with the street lamp and some lights on the tree branches in downtown Vancouver, BC near Georgia & Robson Streets.

xx

I loved how this dandelion seed-head looked against the grass and a yellowed wisteria leaf on the ground beneath it.
