This photograph is one of the most appealing pics of my collection. It was more than a wonder to see the sheep at the height of over 10000 feet.
Earlier uploaded the said subject with a different angle. have a look on this Photo

Merci Bruno.

A planned meeting ... I knew thanks to a friend who frequents the trails behind my house in the Papineau Labelle Reserve that an Pine Marten had its hunting territory there about thirty minutes walk from my place and that it was often observed during their hikes at the end of the day. I will not indicate the location, because there are still a lot of fur traps in my area and the Marten is unfortunately very sought after ...
After multiple waiting and hiking in his area, I noticed that there were a lot of activities with the fresh tracks in the snow, but without ever seeing it ... So I decided to try my luck later in the early evening at dusk ... After a few try I saw it but it was almost total darkness ... So I came back the few next evening with my Headlamp. I used as best I could a technique that a very good friend and excellent photographer that you probably know (Bruno Conjeaud) taught me during his visit in Canada to my house in winter 2018. The head lamp as he says is more effective to focus than the flash, but the ISO are still high ... So I managed to see and photograph my Pine Marten just at the Blue Sky was on which gave an effect that I really did not expect, but that I find to be so wonderful. I go back to this area every day or two days during the day time in the hope of seeing it in the daytime, but without success to date ...
Thanks Bruno.

Sculpture group at Schönbrunn
Unlike the Trojan War, the current war in Ukraine is heroic only on one side. God damn the diabolical insane Putin and his moronic supporters and bring the Russian soldiers and the Russian people to their senses! Russians! Overthrow the criminal clique that rules you and send them to hell!

This beautiful reef pine on the right side should be pretty well known by now to all locals and anyone who has known me for a while anyway. It is my favorite tree on mount small Winterberg in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. And my most photographed tree of all time.
In the classic composition, which I am not the only one to use here, it usually seems as if the tree is standing lonely and alone up here on the rock.
Today I would like to show that this is not the case. As you can see, some younger specimens have settled here over the years, including a birch tree. Two more, shortly before, unfortunately didn't manage to settle in here.
I was particularly impressed by the youngest of these latecomers. With the central rock in the middle, he picked a pretty challenging spot.
I really hope that he manages to develop there. With this location it definitely has the chance to be included in the ranks of the pine celebrities of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.

She's about to earn some bragging rights
I'm 'bout to give it up like I've been holding back all night
Girl, take pride in what you want to do
Even if that means a new man every night inside of you
Baby, I don't mind
You can tell by how I roll
Cause my clique hot and my cup cold
My talk slurred cause I’m so throwed
And I'm wiping sweat from my last show
And he's TG and I'm XO
I'm only here for one night
Then I'mma be a memory
Say it in my ear, so I can hear what you say to me
I got cups full of that Rosé
Smoke anything that's passed to me
Don't worry 'bout my voice
I won't need it for what I'm about to do to you
Bad bitch, girl I think I might get used to you
I might have to take your number when I'm through with you
All I ask of you is try to earn my memory
Make me remember you like you remember me
Bad bitch, girl I think I might get used to you
I might have to take your number when I'm through with you
All I ask of you is try to earn my memory
Make me remember you like you remember me
The chickens at Wright-Locke Farm have been staying inside during the recent spell of cold and inclement weather. The gather in the same groups, and have preferred roosting spots. I gave them some of the fancy broccoli that appeared in yesterday's macro photo.

GRflickr went bowling and I needed to get out of the effin house!

Thank you very much for your comments they are greatly appreciated.
A bird that everyone who lives in a forest environment knows well almost everywhere in North America, the Ruffed Grouse. In its northern habitat when winter arrives, it must change its diet to switch from berries and leaves to buds and tree seeds. His favorite tree where there are some like in my area, it is the yellow birch. She loves that tree seeds and buds.
As I was returning from an end-of-day hike in the woods behind my house with my wife, I noticed this Grouse feeding on top of a Yellow Birch. Since I wasn't very far from home, I went back there to pick up my camera with the 300mm f2.8 because it was getting late 16h15 / 4:15pm and the darkness was quickly arriving.
Here are 3 first images of a series of 6 that I will post of that encounter. Not the best picture quality but I really had a lot of fun doing them and watching that Grouse as she was playing tightrope walker walker on the smallest branches of the top of the tree. The ISOs were acceptable, but given the low light at this late hour of the day, I still ran the whole thing through DeNose AI.
The rest of the acrobatic show tomorrow.
