I had a great streak of luck and birding karma this late spring. While driving 30-35 mph down a forest road one late morning, a big owl flew right over my Jeep. With excitement, I shouted, "Great Gray, Great Gray! We immediately pulled over, and luckily, I re-located the majesty owl. I confidently told my clients, there must be a nest around. A minute later, the male flew across the meadow to hunt as we admired him in perfect light, perched on a beautiful snag. Not too long, one of my client's bionic ears detected an odd noise or whimper. I questioned her and imitated the possible sound. She acknowledged the mystery sound! With my hooter instincts, we walked in the direction of where she thought she heard the bird! A few hundreds yards later, BAM; I found a female great gray siting on a ponderosa snag.

What amazing karma and team work. Natural great gray nests are always rare to find and we were delighted to find it in a new area. What a magical moment.

"In conclusion, your honor, there can be no doubt that the defendant is guilty of slitting my client's son's throat while he slept. Thank you."

My MocAthalon entry to the Bookend category. The photo isn't great, sorry about that. I really like that sword, after the MocAthalon, I might just add the middle section of the blade.

I just heard from my client and the billboard people are choosing this one, I think! Of couse it will have my client's company name and slogan on their somewhere. I'll take a photo of it up. There will be three different months in the next 6 months and three different locations! Goes up April 6th!!!

These Gerbera daisies were sitting on a client's kitchen counter. Thought they were gorgeous, so I snapped 'em.

All of these were taken last week in my client's garden. I don't know if she does the gardening, or if they have a gardener, but their yard is like a jungle!!!

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the first set of photos (in this case, photo) of an interior design project that we have recently completed. For this project, we were commissioned to design the entire interior of the home, as well as the patios and balconies. Any landscaping details that you see in this and upcoming photos of this project, have been completed by the landscapers that are employed by the community that our client lives in.

Before we were officially brought on board this project, we discussed extensively with our client how he envisions the space in his head. He explained to us that as far as the colour palette goes, he is really drawn to whites, creams & beiges for the furnishings. For the flooring, he explained that he prefers lighter wood flooring, but has no issue with stone flooring or a combination of wood and stone. He emphasized that he appreciates great usage of dark and black accenting throughout. For furnishings, he’s drawn to a mix of contemporary and modern pieces but is open to any differing suggestions that we may have. As you can imagine, his vision was music to our ears. Woods? Marbles/Stones? Contemporary & modern furnishings? That is right up our alley. Needless to say, we quickly agreed to take on this project!

In this photo, you are getting a look into the library/office/study of our client's home. We completely stuck with our client's vision. The only deviation was the addition of the warmer wood toned pieces. We felt that the space felt stark with all the white and black marbles, black soap stone & light wooden flooring and wall paneling that we used. To counter that, we suggested adding warmer toned wooden pieces, to balance out the space. Luckily, our client agreed! I am absolutely thrilled with the final product, as is our client.

As always, the team & I thank you so much for following us along our design journey & supporting The Design Firm! You support is what keeps us going <3

Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Note: I chose this as my "photo of the day" for Oct 30, 2015. I actually took about a dozen photos of this scene, while the little boy went through various contortions and impromptu poses -- stretched out, lying flat, standing up, etc. -- while his father steadfastly ignored him. I couldn't tell if the father was deeply engrossed in some kind of communication that he was carrying on with his cell phone ...

The relationship between the boy and the man was interesting to watch -- because on the one hand, they acted as if they were completely independent of each other, and almost oblivious of each other. At the same time, the "body language" of the overall scene made it very clear that they "belonged" together. I'm sure that if anyone made any kind of dangerous move toward the little boy, the father would spring into action like a crazed lion, guarding his cub.

As I reported in a separate Flickr album a couple months ago, most of my business trips have involved air travel from New York City; I’ve seen the insides of more airports and more airplanes than I care to remember.

But most of my trips along the eastern corridor of the U.S. have involved trains, and I find them to be a very relaxing and enjoyable contrast. These trips almost always start with a subway ride to Penn Station, rather than a taxi ride to JFK or LGA or EWR; and they are followed by a relatively pleasant journey along the East Coast on an Amtrak Acela train that has a much greater chance of departing and arriving on time than most of my airplane journeys.

I took a recent trip to Philadelphia in August 2015 and then another one (for a different client) in October 2015. In both cases, my journey began with a subway ride from 96th Street to Penn Station; and then a train trip from the Amtrak terminal in NYC’s Penn Station to the architecturally interesting Amtrak station in Philadelphia, before reaching my client’s office for a day-long meeting. At the end of the day, the journey reversed itself, and I was back home shortly after dinner.

I took a few photos and videos along the way; the ones I’ve uploaded here are representative of the trip...

Hello everyone!

I am home resting up and taking it as easy as I can despite a load of things to tick off on the list, I'm doing my best to recover but I am so thankful for all the support everyone has been sending me! x I was only an overnight stay at the hospital to make sure I had no bleeding from post-surgery, all is well though, I'm just eating a lot of soft foods, on a lot of medication, and sleeping as much as possible.

I'm pleased to share with you some project work I had completed last week, for one of my darling clients, an office that's situated in the high skirts of Los Angeles, this open plan retail fashion headquarters is home to beautifully furnished and upholstered interiors, has high vented beam lights and quite airy with a punch of ebony and burnt rusted orange copper accents with brass features throughout this marvelous renovation. Originally the structure was black and white with concrete flooring, I went ahead and redid it from top to bottom tailoring to my client's brief. Clean and modern and fit for a Queen*.

After spending hours on end editing a client's photos, sometimes it helps to take a little break by setting up an entirely different style of modelling shoot! These guys have been lodging here with us for the past two and a half months. Although I have a pretty good record of fostering wild birds and small rodents without keeping them, these guys might taint that record. I forgot how hilarious these fuzzy critters are with their ninja moves (can you jump from the ground to land on the ceiling in one smooth leap?). Plus, the butterscotch coloured girl in the background loves to gives kisses. They're pretty irresistible.

Also, it's really not easy to convince three mice that hanging out in a teacup is a good idea.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the third and final set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently completed for our friend and repeat client, Stazlyn. For this project, we were commissioned to design the entire interior of Stazlyn’s new seaside vacation home. We did not have a hand in the exterior and landscape design of this project, as that is being handled by another designer.

I am all wrapped up in my RL Christmas décor today, so I will keep this post short and sweet. In the first photo, you are getting a look into the one and only bedroom in our client's home. In the second photo, you are getting a peak into the main dining area of the home.

Like I say in all of my posts, myself and our team here at The Design Firm thank you SO MUCH for continuously following and supporting the work that we do. Seeing the consistent love that is given to all of our posts, that is sent to us in IM’s, NC’s, SLFB messages, Flickr messages, etc is so inspiring to us & it truly keeps our level of passion for what we do at an all-time high.

Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the third set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently wrapped up. For this project, our client requested a neutral/earth tone colour palette, in a modern/contemporary style. Our client gave us near full creative control, with one of her only requests being that we use a dark hardwood floor throughout the home. I must say, this project is easily on my list of my top 5 favourite projects that The Design Firm has had the pleasure to work on.

In the first photo, you are getting a peak into our client's living room & the second photo showcases the media room/home theater. I’ll be leaving the post here, as Rooky & I are still working away on our next client project!

These daisies were sitting on a client's kitchen counter. So I popped them into the light and snapped away.

Each profession has its own dress code, and the Oldest Profession is no different. But a key part of an escort’s duties is to blend in with the client’s world. It’s no use turning up for an assignation at the Sheraton looking like a cheap tramp: you will embarrass the punter and very likely be chucked out by the floor manager! The art of dressing for a first date is the same for every girl – keep all your options open. Promise a lot with sexy little hints, but don’t put everything on the table at once…

This is another of my contests. As usual, there are no rules – express your enthusiasm and try to influence the judges in any way that you like!!!

Love and Kisses to All!

SODALITY NEWS !!!

As there are so many entries for our Sodality Tryouts in August, I thought I would “run through the field” (so to speak) over the next few weeks. The contestants have been placed in pools of eight - somewhat similarly to the usual practice in international football tournaments (so I am reliably informed!).

We start, logically enough, with Group A:

Lady Lavinia Baverstock (“Liv”)

A gorgeous auburn-haired temptress/adultress, and former pole-dancer. Has recently married Lord Wandsworth, her third aristocratic marriage in the last five years. Plays the violin rather beautifully.

Lady Felicity Bennington (“Flick”)

A gorgeous blonde glamour model, now a very active 'hotwife' to the Duke of Shrewsbury. Owns a fantastic collection of Alexander McQueen originals.

Lady Cecily Borthwick (“Cee”)

A stunning fashion and lingerie model, horsewoman and notorious party girl, now married to Sir Edward Blassingame-Bowhaye, Earl of Chessington - and regularly cucking her adoring hubby!

Lady Victoria Cholmondeley-Coutts (“Vicky”)

Stunning and very tall brunette - and active Professional Dominatrix. Now married to Lord Fanshawe – but She calls the shots!

Lady Margery Clutterbuck (“Madge”)

Adult website performer, entrepreneur, sex-toy designer and glamour model - now involved in a very 'modern' marriage with Lord Ripon. Owns a stunning mansion just outside Harrogate.

Lady Priscilla Coddington (“Cilla” - or sometimes "Pris")

A Vogue fashion model who enjoys a secret career in adult entertainment under another name. A lady of many looks! Her current (and regularly cuckolded!) husband just happens to be the Duke of Essex.

Lady Virginia Colt (“Ginnie”)

Like me, Ginnie is a keen horsewoman and very strict disciplinarian. Most often seen as a brunette, but like Cilla (see above) is a lady of many looks and roles. For several years now Ginnie has been enjoying a most unconventional marriage to Lord Brentwood, who - as I am sure you know - is a First Class Knight of the Girdle.

Lady Elizabeth Crenshaw (“Liz”)

A bubbly and curvaceous blonde. But don’t be fooled by the innocent smile – this girl has been the route! Dancer, stripper, glamour model... and now very happily (and 'openly') married to Sir Gavin Crenshaw, Marquis of Beckenham - and current holder of the prestigous 'Silver Knob' ceremonial office in the House of Lords.

The Group B "runners and riders" will follow shortly....

He's about 4 months old and full of personality! He was found abandoned at about 4 weeks old. By the Grace of God... Leo found his way to my client's home. Lucky cat. =)

There's also another cat in the house called Joey. He's pretty young too... maybe around 8 months old. So he has a playmate too. They are both well loved in this house.

I'm so glad I had a chance to meet him at such a young age. He is warm, friendly, playful and very affectionate. Leo is a fabulous little kitten.

Looks pretty bright in here, but in truth, this was shot at ISO 800, f2.8 and 1/100.

I'm not sure what this spring flower is, but it is a real winner with me!!!! Yeap I was strolling through my client's garden when I saw these and you know I HAD to take a shot of them! lol Enjoy the day dear friends!!!!! This is Bloodroot, thanks for the id Doug, I thought it might be, but it seems awfully early!!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all having a great Saturday. Today I will be sharing the second set of photos (just one photo in this case) of an interior design project that we have recently wrapped up for our client, Aniyah. For this project, we were commissioned to design the primary bedroom & ensuite of the home, as well as three generously sized guest suites.

I am super busy in RL today, with tons of errands that I need to run, so this post will not be too lengthy. In this photo, you are given a look into one of the guest suites in our client's home. As mentioned in my previous post, our client was looking for each bedroom to be dark and moody, with dark wooden flooring & dark walls, with the hints of light & colour coming out through the accessories that we used in each space.

Next week, I will share the third and final set of photos that our amazing photographer, Sean, has taken of this project.

Floatel Reliance accommodates 500 people in one, two and four bed cabins and has large recreational areas, including mess and day rooms, gymnasium, internet café and cinema. The vessel has a telescopic gangway for client personnel to transfer between the floatel and the host installation. A helideck, two deck cranes, a large lay-down area as well as workshops and warehouses support the client’s logistics, construction and storage activities.

Dog Portraits - Gabby the GSP. An older image from a client's shoot done a few years ago. This was the first time that Gabby (and her much older companion dog Max) had been to the dog park and they reveled in the freedom of the place. It made photographing them so much fun.

Spent the better part of an hour, laying on the hard ground to get a shot of these sneakers. I shot them at f1.4 with the 50mm, f1.8 with the 85mm, f2.8 with both, and than went back 3 hours later, cleaned the front of them with a magic eraser pad and reshot them again.

The background is at f1.4 with the 50mm. This lens produces the BESTcleaned bokeh. Then used the f2.8 shot of the front part of the sneakers, from the later shoot, and put that into the first shot. Added Florabella action- Summer Vintage... and there ya go. =)

P.S. Not my Chucks... they were at a client's home. But I LOVE Converse!

Hello Everyone and happy Saturday! Today I will be sharing the third set of photos of a large-scale interior design project that we have recently completed for our client, Chontei. I’ve written a bunch about this project over my last couple of posts, so I will keep this post on the shorter side.

In the first two photos, you are given a look into our client's home office, and adjacent library. As the rooms in this home are so large in scale, we had ample space to work within the home office area. This gave us plenty of room to design & décor a traditional office space, while allowing us to incorporate a lounge area, complete with a large fireplace surrounded with polished marble, incased within custom built-in shelving.

In the third photo, you are given a peak into the home library. This space is directly attached to the home office, providing us with the perfect segue to build our client their very own bookshelf cladded space. We wanted this space to distinctly feel like a contemporary and quiet retreat within our client's house, while still maintaining the charm of a library. This space has two separate lounge/relax areas (one being out of shot) providing our client & their family with ample space to enjoy some peace and quiet, catch up on a book, or just simply explore their thoughts.

Over the next 1-2 weeks, I will share the final sets of photos that our amazing photographer, Sean, has taken of this project.

As always, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the work that my colleagues and I churn out at The Design Firm. It means the world to us that almost three years later, since we joined up to create The Design Firm, that you still follow & support everything that we do. Even if we don’t always get around to posting about all of the projects that we are doing around the grid.

Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Full disclosure, I have more gifts to wrap than I can fathom, so this post will be short and sweet. In the first photo, you are getting a peak into the living room of our client's home. As you all know by now, we like to create custom mesh flooring for all projects that we are commissioned to design. For this project, we kicked the customization up a notch and created multiple custom mesh elements throughout our client's home, with this fireplace surround being one of them!

In the second photo, you are getting a peak into our client's dining room. In this space, we created a custom mesh surround, housing a temperature controlled wine cellar, which is enclosed with glass paneling.

In the third photo, you are viewing our clients foyer. Not much more to add for this one!

Hello Everyone and happy Saturday! Today I will be sharing the second set of photos of a large-scale interior design project that we have recently completed for our client, Chontei. I wrote multiple paragraphs about this project in my last post, so I will do my best to keep this post on the shorter side 😛

In this set of photos, you are getting a sneak peek into the two formal dining rooms within our client’s home. Having two dining areas was a request directly from our client, as she requires ample space to house her large family during gatherings & the holidays. These two spaces, as is the theme with Chontei’s home, have been designed in a neutral palette of beautiful whites, creams, beiges & tans, with exotic woods, polished chrome, lacquered black accents & many varieties of marble throughout. In addition to the custom mesh floors within these two rooms, we’ve further customized both spaces by installing custom mesh cabinetry, each housing a vast display of fine French champagnes and Italian wines.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will share the remaining sets of photos that our amazing photographer, Sean, has taken of this project. Trust me, there are a bunch more photos to share!

As always, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the work that my colleagues and I churn out at The Design Firm. Recent landscaping job we did around a client's existing home.

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend & an amazing last day of 2022! Today I will be sharing the third set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently completed. For this project, we were commissioned to design the entire interior of the home, as well as the patios and balconies. Any landscaping details that you see in this and upcoming photos of this project, have been completed by the landscapers that are employed by the community that our client lives in.

In the first photo, you are getting a look at what may be my favourite room of this project, the kitchen! For this space, we created a ton of custom elements, which really help distinguish this kitchen from all the others that have been installed in this model of home. To start, we created a custom mesh wooden surround, which helps enclose all cabinetry and appliances, such as the wine fridges on the left hand side of the photo. We’ve also created a custom glass door fridge, along with custom glass door cabinetry on each side of the range, in a beautiful tinted black finish. These details help break up the heavy usage of wood and stones in this space, providing a nice contrast of a more delicate material.

In the second photo, you are getting a peak into the breakfast area, which is adjacent to the kitchen. This is a much more intimate space than the dining room, which I showcased in my previous post, due to the space being smaller overall and having a lesser seating capacity. As you can see, we stuck with our client's directive, using lots of beige, cream and white tones, with graphite and black accents to provide a grounding effect.

As always, the team & I thank you so much for following us along our design journey & supporting The Design Firm! You support is what keeps us going <3

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. Today I will be sharing the second set of photos of an interior design project that we have recently completed. For this project, we were commissioned to design the entire main floor of the home, as well as the primary bedroom & ensuite, which is located on the second floor. Any landscaping details that you see in this and upcoming photos of this project, have been completed by another designer.

Rooky and I are working away on our current client commissions. I am going to keep this post short and sweet, so I can get back to work! In the first photo, you are getting a peak into the primary living room of our client's home. As the room is so wide, we were able to fit three separate seating areas within the space! In the second photo, you are seeing our clients home office/study, which happens to be right off the living room.

Inside the canopy of this plant I found three new limbs with leaves reaching up and this one was the only one that came out in focus.

Vince and I spent the afternoon installing a client's amazing art collection in their new home. Their view is spectacular. The Alberta Legislature Building is partially covered in white tarp for work being done.

Our Daily Challenge - Sticky

Found this sticky note on my computer screen after getting back from a client's office this morning. I guess Toni means business !

EN: Opened in 1896 and rebuilt in the 20th century, the Marché Victor Hugo remains the beating heart of Toulouse’s culinary life. Generations of vendors and customers gather here daily, weaving together tradition and modernity. With its vibrant red stalls and overflowing counters, it reflects both the city’s history and its ongoing passion for gastronomy. FR:

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday! Today I will be sharing the second and final set of photos of a project that we’ve recently wrapped up for returning clients of The Design Firm, Aisha & Bookie Moon. For long time followers of our work, you may remember the photos we posted back in August 2020, showcasing the residential project that we completed for Aisha & Bookie. That project was to convert approximately ¼ of their sim into their residential oasis. We’ve since been brought back to finish the approximate remaining ¾ of their sim & turn it into a NYC themed metropolis, with ample space to house Bookie's store and many other RP friendly spaces!

In this second set of photos, I’ll be showcasing the large central park-esque are that we’ve created in the middle of the commercial portion of our clients sim 😊 In terms of large & useable outdoor garden areas, I think this might take the cake in becoming my absolute favourite that we have done to date! As this is a public sim (our client's store, Addicted To Ink, is located in the commercial area) we wanted to ensure that there was ample space for numerous people to gather. Whether it was for RP related activities, photos, or even for people like me who like to explore new sims and spaces, we wanted to create an environment that rang true to our client's vision, while designing and creating the spaces in a way that allowed them to be easily used by those who are fortunate enough to visit this sim.

As always, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the work that my colleagues and I churn out at The Design Firm. It means the world to us!

Lastly, I always recommend viewing my photos in full screen mode when able! This allows you to see the true depth and detail of the spaces that my colleagues and I create for our clients.

Hello everyone!

This little dragon fly has part of one wing broken off, but it still finds beauty while it haunts my client's rose garden.
