After travelling over fifty miles to the Cotswold Water Park, which I had heard was good for birds, and coming away after six hours with just a handful of shots of a Great Tit I was, to say the least a little miffed. Especially when I turned up to work at a regular client's house only to find that this chap and his partner had set up home in a hole in a dead fruit tree and were busily feeding their hungry brood. The female flies straight into the nest but the male reliably perches for a few moments on a small branch before delivering the food allowing me to stand behind another tree just 3metres away and snap away merrily. During my last session I was there for around forty minutes and he visited about eight times with the female doing the same amount meaning that there should soon be some very healthy fledglings making themselves known. Just hope they time it so that I am around too.
This is a test shot from yesterday's shoot at a client's Flower Shop. I still need to make adjustments in the lighting but It seems as if Fuji and Flash get along quite well. :-)

This piece, created by local Canadian artist Maryon Kantaroff, is a memorial to lawyer Frederick G. Gans. Gans was killed in 1978 by a former client’s husband in the courthouse hallway that used be at 145 Queen Street West (now the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts). Although installed in 1980 and not formally a part of the Gardens, the sculpture is consistent with the Gardens’ themes in style and values.

A good real estate agent knows her client’s preferences and only shows her houses she will love.

Street photography can be controversial. Not everyone is a fan of having their photo taken by a friend let alone a perfect stranger. Whilst I don't try to conceal people's faces - maybe I should - I do try to capture the moment while they are blissfully unaware. Most of the time, it's with a long lens so as not to be too "in their face" about it. Although you'd never tell from this photo, the chap in the glasses was really excited to have his photo taken. I wasn't expecting him to look out the window while cutting his client's hair. His expression in the photo appears to be one of confusion, but as soon as I lowered the camera, he gave me an enormous smile and a thumbs up. I just hope he didn't mess up his client's haircut because of me.
Commission job for another very good client! My design...client wanted something "Oriental"....I presented her with three different sketches....she chose this one. Original pattern carved from Ferris green, cast, and florentined. Handmade chain. Client's stones, VS / "E" color diamonds.
A commissioned watercolour of my client’s daughter running through a field of poppies in Croatia. 11x15 in.
Finally bagged my first ruby throated hummingbird!! I was so excited!! Was at a client's house and she had two feeders in the yard. So, I sat there on the deck for two hours and watched two hummers go back and forth around the feeders. They would show up maybe every 15-20 minutes for about 3-8 seconds if I was lucky. They were so small! Maybe 2-3 inches in size. She's away next weekend too. Can't wait to go back!! These guys are such a challenge to capture!
Added my texture- Paint by Numbers
I just sold our first 20-foot long wall mural of this pano from Lake Powell. I can’t wait to see how it looks on the client's wall once it’s done!
Any of the images I post can be printed. If you are interested in purchasing some prints, just send me a private message. A sincere thank you to everyone who has purchased prints, especially during these uncertain times. Your support is greatly appreciated!
Ok.......... she's one of the cutest puppies I've ever seen! About 8 weeks old and up for adoption. She's being fostered by my client's daughter and mate. She's so new, she doesn't even have a name yet. She's paper trained and she's pretty mellow for a puppy this age. I'd adopt her myself but I already have three and two of my three are special needs. But if I were looking..... she would be a huge contender. So cute!
UPDATE- SHE WAS JUST ADOPTED!! YAY!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
Mack has a tooth that needs to be extracted and so is having a dental procedure done even as I type this. The surgery techs sent me this photo. Barb is cleaning Mack's teeth and Alexander Hamilton has a front row seat.
They wouldn't let Alex hang out this closely with a client's pet but knew I'd get a kick out of this photo. Which I do.
Actually, what is happening is that Alex likes the warm air that is being pumped through a hose under the towels to keep Mack warm while he's under anesthesia. See the blue hose by Mack's head? That's hooked to his intubation tube. He is fully out of it and Alex is enjoying the warmth and the show.
Needless to say, I was thrilled to see all that bokeh, when I saw this in my camera. =)
Just a wrought iron fence at one of my client's homes. Couldn't pass up those little duckies.

A commission....Cast from the client's own 14K white gold...and their own diamonds, also! This ring is the wedding band that goes with the Engagement ring about 6 or 7 pics back in my stream....or just look at the set to see all of them.
These daffodils were sitting on a client's coffee table. I soaked up the natural light from the bay window opposite them. Used florabella textures, white linen, tea stained, bombay and vignette.
Well, folks, after nearly two weeks I've realized yet again that traditional newborn photography just isn't my forte. So I decided to do newborn photography my way . . . just for fun. . . . just cause I'd probably never do this with a client's baby. I do have a nice traditional shot of them all together, but I think that this will be the one to replace the canvas over my mantle.
And editing here was, well, a lot of things. Soft color pop action, then added a curve vignette and Urban TS action with a texture from my Worn set.
A little larger . . . .
in my client's garden
P.S. painted the fence myself. After convincing my client to go for that colour. rather small and dark back garden - it made a huge difference

Electric locomotive 85 632 on its debut freight train for Express Service Bulgaria, with route Iliyantsi (Sofia) - Devnya. It was seen at Iliyantsi station on May 14, 2024. Express Service started its business in Bulgaria as a locomotive workshop for construction of small battery powered locomotives and maintenance works for any types of locomotives. A few years ago they were registered also as a railway operator. Initially they hauled trains very rarely, mostly own trains for transportation of the brand new small locomotives to client's locations and the trains were hauled by class 55 diesel locomotives (LDH 125, built by FAUR Bucuresti, Romania). Last year they acquired several electric locomotives class 86 from Freightliner (England) which already are familiar here, because another railway operator - Bulmarket has exploited for almost 10 years. The locomotives were overhauled in the workshop near Ruse and two days ago the first one - 85 632 served its first regular pair of trains.
Video with the locomotive is available here:
Nasty, rainy, dark and dreary the last two days. I spotted these daffodils in a client's house, so time to shoot indoors.... the light (what was available) is coming from a big window on the left. The table is round hence the crop.. I love when flowers are sitting in a nice clear vase. So much more to see. Textures listed in the tags.

You know that feeling after your dad bought a Ford Taurus growing up, and then it seemed like you saw Ford Tauruses everywhere?
That’s how I feel about this orange speckled insect! Back in 2010, I took a photo of one with my iPhone, and I love the photo. Then last year, I found another one at a local butterfly garden. This year I’ve seen them in my yard, on a client’s landscaping, and at the same butterfly garden; maybe they’re not as rare as I thought!
It's the end of the flower season. Not too many left to pick from, but I saw this morning glory at a client's house and figured I'd give it a go..
The original crop was bothering me, so I cropped it a little closer and reposted..
Commission job for another very good client! My design...client wanted something "Oriental"....I presented her with three different sketches....she chose this one. Original pattern carved from Ferris green, cast, and florentined. Handmade chain. Client's stones, VS / "E" color diamonds.
Being that I seem to have exhausted my source of new pictures / artwork, I have decided to "release" this version of artwork that I have been storing on flickr as "Private viewing" only. This artwork actually represents a third and final version of artwork that I had created for a client (actually the client's wife) back in 2013.
The car's exterior color was achieved by utilizing a 5-exposure bracket (but under less than ideal conditions - artificial interior lighting within the client's warehouse - the client would not allow the car to be brought out of his warehouse and photographed under natural light...........
The first two proofs, found here - flic.kr/p/jwhrGE and here - flic.kr/p/jtiErz were rejected.
Now I'm sure that my detractors as well as some of my friends will think, 'there goes Roger bragging and boasting and pumping his over inflated ego again'. No, my esteemed fellow flickites , this is not the case. The intent...........the ONLY intent of all this seemingly boasting narrative is intended merely to illustrate the frustration one often encounters when doing my best satisfy a customer.
I was laying on a client's driveway pavers with my head on the ground to get this one. The lavender at the top is only about 18 inches off the ground. They're actually growing sideways.

A commission....Cast from the client's own 14K white gold...and their own diamonds, also! Just a hint of a 'euro' shank on this band......and a good view of the big open holes in the back.
Parked in a client's driveway, when I turned to my left and saw this beautiful lavender. After shooting the flowers for a few minutes, I focused on trying to get one of the bees in flight. Got 'em pretty good in this one... and I didn't even have to get out of the driver's seat. =)
Once again.... I added florabella action Summer Vintage. I LOVE this PS Action!

This shot was taken on our Badlands Workshop last week. Such epic conditions at this overlook! It was hard to know which direction to shoot.
Adam and I were pet sitting for a family in our town when the snowstorm hit. We live in a very hilly area with lots of winding roads. When our 4WD started sliding, we decided to bring our client's dogs over to our house so we could make sure we were still able to care for them.
And of course, I couldn't resist photographing my houseguests. One of their dogs is a golden retriever. The other is a some kind of spaniel.
I didn't take any photos of the snow yesterday because I have a pinched nerve in my neck and really can't carry my gear. So, instead of scenery - you're going to see shots of dogs and food! :-)
Sunflower was found last week by one of our clients when he started appearing at our client's place of business very hungry, skinny and full of fleas. For a week, our client fed and watched Sunflower and then got him into a carrier and to the vet two days ago. Our client already had a new home arranged for Sunflower so after two days of blood work, getting rid of the fleas and vaccinating him, Sunflower joined his new family last night. There is a picture of him looking much happier in the comments. I love the incongruity of Sunflower's happy name with his sad expression. Actually, Sunflower was sweet and social and not at all sad. That's just the way he looks.
Happy Caturday: Close-up portrait of a cat's face.
I haven't seen Minnie is a long time. She's not actual a client but related to two of my client's... so she visits. I love her. She's got the best face! She's also a sweetheart. Caught her here, on an overcast day, heading up the steps to come inside.

The Nathan G. Moore House also known as the Moore-Dugal Residence is a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The house was built one block south of Wright's home and studio at 333 Forest Avenue in the Chicago suburb of Oak Park, Illinois. It was originally completed in 1895 in the Tudor Revival style at the request of client Nathan Moore. Wright obliged his client's wishes, but long after disliked the house for its adherence to historical styles.
Used Light painting whip, by Lightpaintingbrushes.com for effect on my client's BMW. Whip connected to Universal Connector, and Olight Warrior S3 flashlight. Flashlight on strobe mode.
